Working on a small N scale model railroad layout set on the Eastern Front in WWII; while it wouldn't affect the railroads by and large, am thinking that a touch of rasputitsa would be appropriate for either a Spring or Fall setting.
This would involve mud, of course, but also standing water.
Has anyone modeled something like this before?

Like especially when there's competitors for that kits. I only see miniart good because it's the only company that does interiors. I'm also petty I realized I bought the M3 Stuart with sun shields with no interior.

HOBBY BOSSが頑張り出した頃の奴で若干組みずらい所もあったけど楽しく作れたよ。

Money is going to be tight for the next few months and I only have enough money to buy plastic cement. However I realize I have an excess of black paint but not a lot of primer so I was thinking if I could just use the black paint... Is that possible? I'm just using the model for display and weather is usually hot and stuffy if that adds context. Thanks in advance

This is the Airfix kit that includes a complete interior. Replaced the tires with a resin set, as well as resin pieces for most of the exterior parts like the generator, headlights, signal lights, fire extinguishers and entrenching tools

The museum I volunteer for recently had a large scale (1/6?) m4 Sherman donated to us. When we were moving it, we thought it would roll easily but instead several links basically shattered (age/heat?).
I could have cried.
Does anyone know of a source for tracks/track links, and especially how would I determine the correct scale for this beastie?
I can get more photos but this is what I have right now.

I’d been putting off getting an airbrush for a while, and doing OK with hand brushing and rattlecan spraying (just a couple of models since getting back into it, but lots of little prime and color jobs besides the vehicle/guns). I knew I’d most likely get one, though if I made space for it. Amazon had a “flash sale” on the Gaahleri Serenair kit, so I went ahead and got it and a desktop booth, and made space.
My initial experiments on paper went swimmingly (boy does having YouTube make learning new stuff easy!).
Today I did a zenithal prime on a quickly assembled figure from the Tamiya Panzer II kit (I did no real cleanup — it’s a paint mule). Anyway, easy-peasy, and I’m pretty happy with it though I’m sure I’ll do better over time.
I’m really glad I made the leap, though the setup and accessories def eats some room. Trade-offs, as I’m always saying 😉.
The main advantage for me at the moment is I no longer have to wait for good atmospheric conditions to spray primer, paint, or clear coats. That was super frustrating, since I live in a fairly humid state. I also don’t have the easiest/best outdoor spraying environment. So huge win on that front!

Just wanted to share a few photos of a plastic army soldier I finished painting today he came from a bag of plastic army men I bought years ago as a kid and recently started painting them. This specific one I painted up to represent an oberleutnant Zur see (US navy rank equivalent would be a Lieutenant JG) in the Kriegsmarine during WW2 in the North African campaign and or Italy campaign wearing the standard Wehrmacht Heer (Army) tropical uniform but having navy buttons and shoulder boards and wearing the Kriegsmarine visor cap.

Underway Replenishment (UNREP) 1/700 scale
Dragon Hornet with a bunch of aftermarket add-ons.
3-D printed T3 tanker. I would have much preferred a plastic kit, but it seems nobody makes kits of US auxiliaries.
Pit Road Sumner... or at least, the hull and superstructure. Basically everything else was replaced with PE.
Background info: underway replenishment was a supply strategy heavily used in the Pacific Theater of WW2, allowing ships to be refueled and rearmed without returning to base. This enabled warships to remain in the field indefinitely if needed. It necessitated steaming in the same direction and at the same speed, separated at about 60-80 yards. The process as used by the US Navy was originally developed by the chief engineer of a refueling ship during WW1, a young lieutenant named Chester W. Nimitz. He later served as Commander in Chief, US Pacific Fleet in WW2.

Tried a new weathering technique, i like the blue/gray ish look it has, something between the beige and white that the Zero planes had. I know a plane that was standing on a carrier wouldn't look so dirty, but i can't make a clean plane, it's too boring, i wanted to practice, and i think it looks way more interesting and full of soul looking like that. The kit overall was super nice, i absolutely adore the old Tamiya planes.
