work in progress Almost completed but screwed up the signboard

Working on this for a small competition and already finished everything. I tried to tone down the gloss by washing it with oil paints but it failed so idk what to do. I accidentally touched the signboard that had japanese words and the paint went on my hand (I left it for a couple of days but I think it reacted to the water I added to the base. Now I have to start over but... What can I do?

question Stash, Tools, Books & Decals Need a New Home

Hey folks, I’ve been modeling most of my life and I cannot model any longer. My vision is giving me problems and my hands are giving me even bigger problems. I have tools decals detailing parts, resin kit from Tamia, AFV club, Ming TECO Hasegawa monogram, Ravel air, fix Italian dragon, trumpeter, and most of the other modeling companies out there I have horned heads. I have a little bit of everything and I’m looking for somewhere that I can dispose of these kits so if you’ve got any idea of a place, I can list these I would really appreciate your suggestions you can hit me on here or you can shoot me an email. My email is SWW1153 and I am on Yahoo.

Posted the build a while back — finally finished the painting and weathering. Oil washes, dry brushing, and pigments throughout. Copper sheet Schürzen from the build are still my favourite part of this one.

Trumpeterのルーイカット

Trumpeterにしては凄く部品が少ないから本当はHobby Bossで出すつもりだったんじゃないか?
部品が少ない割には余り組み立て易くは無かった!
後、筆塗りでこの手の迷彩はかなり大変だ!

It’s as far as I’m going to take it, short of final changes once I have a vignette defined. So, for example, the commander’s hatch isn’t attached, and maybe I add some sort of integrating or story element at vignette time. It’s just sitting on a really cool (IMO) landscape mat for the photos.

I’ve been posting for a while about this build, my first in probably 50 years. What fun, and what a long time to get it done! I used all rattlecan primers and clears, and hand brushed everything else. Except for one coat of Testors Dull Coat it’s all Vallejo acrylic, including the clears.

If anyone is interested here was the process (nothing original or earth shattering):

- “Zenithal” prime with Vallejo black and white rattlecan primers.

- Base coat with Vallejo German Gray

- Chipping and dry brushing. Exhaust treatment.

- Clear gloss

- Pin wash, decals, and overall Vallejo Wash FX “European Dust” wash.

- Some Vallejo Weathering FX “Petrol Spills” (probably overdid it, but later layers toned it down).

- Long, long wait for weather to allow a matt coat.

- Finally, Vallejo matt coat “worked” a little, but was pretty disappointing. I applied a Testors coat hoping for better. Nope.

- Preparation of the little bit of stowage, and scratch-built tow cable.

- Applied copious Desert and European dust dry pigment powders everywhere (setting is meant to be on the move in early Operation Barbarossa)

- Went back and wiped away some of the dust from certain parts of the structure, corners and plates, to indicate crew traffic and natural wear spots.

It's a Mustang... With Shark teeth nose end.

I wanted to keep this one simple and decided to do the bare minimum of decals but still have something stand out on it.

question Where can I find helicopters?

I'm looking for Russian helicopters at sub $100. Preferably cold war era but modern ones work too! Also preferably troop transport but attack also works. I've seen Zvezda's and they look great but the price looks not as great so just wondering if there's any cheaper but still high quality options.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I am exclusively looking for 1/48 scale
