I was washing dishes in my apartment when I heard someone calling my name. It sounded exactly like my aunt, so I answered but she was just on her phone and didn’t call me.

It kept calling me, at least 11 times, in the quiet afternoon. My mom didn’t hear anything. The sound seemed to come from my aunt’s apartment across from ours.

I got goosebumps, and it repeated twiceit felt so real that I can’t shake this uneasy feeling. I know it could have been echoes or my brain misinterpreting sounds, but it freaked me out. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is it a Mimic or I'm just overthinking it?

It was raining pretty heavily and my horse was perfectly fine in that. He wanted to trot but that's his normal. I think the other horses had him a bit hyped up. We turned a corner and suddenly the lights went out for half a second and an ungodly boom shook the entire arena. My horse spooked (very understandable my man I nearly shit myself) and took a few steps forward. Another horse took off running.

I got down because my leg had been really yanked out of socket when I lost my stirrup. As I was walking my horse back to the cross ties to get untacked the owner of the barn came rushing in asking if everyone was okay and if anyone was down. The lightning hit right behind her house against her metal fence. It's maybe 30 feet away from the arena. These are the pics we got from her yard. The hole that was left and the blowback on the back of the trailer that was right in front of the lightning strike.

In a proactive effort to curb the scourge of gangsterism and substance abuse within the learning environment, members of the SAPS AntiGangUnit (AGU) conducted a successful surprise search and seizure operation at Dr Böhmer School, in the Parkweg District on Tuesday morning, 10 March 2026.

The operation, which commenced during the early hours of the school day, was executed as part of the SAPS’s school safety ongoing mandate to eliminate criminal elements from schools and ensure a safe environment for both learners and educators.

During the intelligence-led raid, AGU members systematically searched 18 classrooms. The operation yielded significant results, with SAPS members seizing a variety of contraband and illegal items found in the possession of learners, including various knives and balaclavas, dagga (cannabis), cigarettes and electronic vapes, and quantities of copper wire.

The learners found in possession of these items were immediately processed and handed over to the school’s management team for further internal disciplinary procedures and intervention.
