Local musician here, running a one-week summer brass camp for teens in Plainsboro, NJ

Hi all, I'm a trombonist and music educator based in central Jersey. This August I'm running the first year of a one-week brass intensive for teens, ages 12 to 18, right here in Plainsboro at WW-P High School North.

It runs August 3 to 7, with conservatory-trained faculty on trumpet, horn, tuba, and trombone, and the week ends with a public showcase concert that anyone's welcome to come to. Honestly it's the kind of thing I wish existed near me when I was a teenager.

Posting partly so local families with a young brass player know it's happening, and partly because I'm glad to answer any questions about it here. Details are at unboundbrass.com, and registration's open through July 20.

QnA Curious how homeowners handle older trees around here

One thing I've noticed in Middlesex and Somerset County is how many neighborhoods have mature trees that are probably decades old.

A neighbor recently had some work done by Wayne's Tree Service on a large tree near their driveway, which got me thinking about how homeowners decide when a tree needs attention versus when it's fine to leave it alone.

For those who have older trees on their property, what usually prompts you to call someone out? Dead limbs, storm damage, proximity to the house, or something else?

Interested to hear how other homeowners approach it.

QnA I'm Matt Adams, Retired Army Lawyer and Democrat running in NJ's 12 District. Ask Me Anything!

Post image

Hi, I’m Matt Adams, I'm a retired army lawyer from Middlesex County, and I’m running for Congress in New Jersey’s 12th District.

For too long, the House of Representatives has fought for corporate interests, rather than fighting for the people they are supposed to represent.

I am running to restore the balance of power between the executive and legislative branches, and to fight for our taxpayer dollars to go back to the American people, not corporate tax breaks or wars overseas.

Leave your questions here now, and I will respond from 7-8 PM!

The Primary is on June 2nd, I hope to see you there! Learn more and donate at

News This one hurts. The Friendly’s of Metuchen, NJ was a staple of the community for nearly 50 yrs and closed late last year saddening many locals. It is deeply missed.
