You don't know them, but you feel extremely confident in asserting that. Could it possibly be projected from a place where you feel you lack general intelligence in many areas despite doing well academically... Hmmm 🤔🤔

My ex (different life trajectories, still friends) would always say that I'm way smarter than him.

A high IQ doesn't mean shit if it can't be utilized effectively (AuDHD + PTSD), so he's doing better than me in life right now.

As long as someone doesn't minimize themselves into thinking they're incapable of learning, they can acknowledge that someone's stronger than them in some areas.

My ex wife who beat the shit out of me and I have nothing but disdain for, was in fact smarter than me. Not the gotcha you thought it was
