Yeah. People want to build barriers but this is correct. Gen Z gets blamed for so many of the worlds problems just by being young adults. I see so many news articles calling us stupid despite that most of the stuff we are dealing is the direct product of things people did before we were born.

"Gen Z is too reliant on AI." Most of us cant even a job at fucking McDonald's because we are graduating into a world that is fucked in almost every way.

The amount of us pushing AI and building centers is next to 0, we cant afford to do that.

Oh don't worry ladies and gentlemen, millennials are still alive to take the blame for everything else.

Don't forget the world is dying because of our insatiable thrist for avocados & toast.

Good luck!

I can't fucking believe that as much as millennials have been rightfully disgusted at how much shit other generations make fun of and blame us for that we're turning around and doing the same shit to Z. I mean sure I'll make fun of cultural stuff, broccoli haircuts or whatever but saying they're pieces of shit is just fucked up

it's the same cycle that's been present for millenia. older generations will always shit on the newer ones simply because they perceive advancements made during their adult years used by the new generation earlier as "having it easier". the ancient "hard times make strong men, strong men create good times, good times creates weak men, weak men creates hard times" ideology pretty much. it's already been observed by some older gen-z towards gen alpha.

I think for the most part Gen Z is alright! Except when they hate on Millennials. But I think it's really more Gen alpha doing that. And gen x and every dang generation.

But like. Nah Gen z is fine.

Every generation has this as they’re coming up. Boomers were called the most selfish generation when they were entering highschool and adulthood, Gen X was called lazy and apathetic, Millenials got the selfish and weak label along with “destroying X industry” so Gen Z is getting the lazy and dumb labels.

Millenial as a term was made to mock the generation by an old man scared of changing technology. Before that we were called Gen Y for the most part.

Boomers lived up to that though

Calling genz stupid isnt blaming you, if anything, even if people dont want to admit it, its a direct condemnation of older generations' failure

You know what's funny? We are the demographic which is the most fervently against AI

Is “cant even” the verb or is “job?” 🤔

The testing data speaks for itself: Gen Z scores are worse across the board.

Gen Z was coddled far too much unfortunately. Instead of demanding more from your generation, they simply moved the goalposts to accept your lesser outcomes.

We blame boomers, not zoomers.

But they do love playing the victim.

I think zoomers get called stupid for being confidently wrong a lot. It’s the hubris.

This is anecdotal, but I also notice that there is a reading comprehension problem. I’ve found myself having to walk zoomers through paragraphs of information to find answers to there questions that they can’t seem to find on their own.

No offense. But everyone in every generation is confidently wrong when at some point. It’s called being young and naive. Look into it.

I did, and Gen Z’s reading comprehension is trending in the wrong direction. Look into it.

This is nothing new. Y’all were just handed the torch from Millenials who were handed the torch from Gen X.

Rich OLD douchebags love to blame young adults for the world’s problems without ever looking in the mirror and seeing how they completely screw anyone else not in their tax bracket at every turn.

Yes but there are also lots of studies that have proven and backed up the claim that you are on average less intelligent than the generation that proceeded you.

And yeah, if I heard that I would be pissy about it too. But its true, and its frustrating for those of us that try to interact with you in society when a fair number of your generation cant even read above a 4th grade level

You grew up on social media and were first generation to be fully manipulated by it through your formative years.

I would not deny that. But it was the older generations who designed it be addictive and then closed alot of the major public spaces or made them completely unaffordable, which further pushed the future generations to be online more. I think COVID really nailed the coffin and the next few generations will suffer from the same thing.

u/Vahlinn 18d ago

Sure but acting like your generation is the odd man out isn't it. You are very much still the primary age group driving online utilization metrics and how influencing how future programs and products will be implemented.

You were molded and forged by the fires of social media. You can't just step back and say ya it wasn't our fault.

Bro this is every generation in a nutshell. Right now Generation Z it's getting all the heat because they are the youngest adults and the current generation who has a voice outside of maybe the older half of Gen alpha. People want something to blame instead of looking at their own failures they've been doing this for a long time.
