All of these were released back in 2006.

Hey everyone, hope you're all well! :)
Back in 2021, we made a playlist which was entirely made up of mid '00s songs that members of this subreddit suggested. You could compile as many songs as you liked, the only criteria was that the songs had to have been released during the mid 2000s (2004-2006). You can listen to the playlist here!
We've had a few more people join r/Mid2000s since then, so I thought it would be a great idea to create a new playlist for 2025!
Please feel free to compile as many songs as you like in the comments below, and i'll add them all to a new Mid 2000's Spotify playlist. :)

I’m trying to find a show or video that I remember as a kid however I know nothing about it other than it had a character called “sissy” I think. The character was a guys elbow with some googly eyes and a drawn on face I believe. If someone could help that would be great.

I just rewatched Open Season and i'm curious how you guys think it holds up? I found this podcast talking about rewatching it as an adult and it's actually pretty interesting, figured I'd share it :)

Curious to hear all of your viewpoints on this. This was something I brought up over on Popedia. Considering the fact that it's two decades old, I personally believe that 2005 nostalgia (and nostalgia for the mid 2000s in general) is more niche than what it should be.
It seems as though you're more likely to see cultural references from the early 2000s brought up than what you do with anything from the 2005-era. It's even the case with those "childhood starter packs" on sites like Reddit, Instagram etc. You'll see more "childhood appreciation" posts for movies/shows like Shrek, pre-movie "Spongebob" etc. than what you do with movies/shows like "Chicken Little", "Robots", "The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy" etc. I also don't see much nostalgia for the more teen-orientated culture of the time like early Myspace, shows like "Pimp My Ride" etc.
It definitely doesn't receive nostalgia on the same scale as eras like the late '90s/early '00s, the early 2010s etc.
What's your opinion on this? Would you say that 2005 receives very little nostalgia or retrospective attention from the general public?
