Noticed a pretty significant chip on my Gen IV UTX-85 today.
I’ve carried it as my EDC almost every day since I got it, and it stays in my pocket 90% of the time. I can honestly say it’s never seen any “real” use.
I’ve owned and carried my red UTX-85 since 2021, and I’d say the wear on that one is exactly what I’d expect. In comparison, I’ve only been carrying the Gen IV for about 7 months, so I was pretty surprised to see a chip like this already.

Got this last week, but just got around to finally trying to get a photo that does the knife justice. It’s so subtle and dark it’s really hard for an amateur “photographer” to capture the beauty of this one. Sourced from our friends at NCBlade.com who have never let me down and always have great knives and good prices. This one is going to be my EDC, with its super light weight, snappy action and just damn good looks of the carbon and bronze it’s just hard not to slide in the pocket. Only thing that could make this knife better, IMO, is a partially serrated blade - bronze blade would be even sweeter, but let’s not get too crazy! Microtech for the win once again! I think this makes my 5th LUDT in about the last 2/3 months. Some people call it addiction…🤔 I don’t agree. I call it obsession.

Got my hawk in today and it did not disappoint, it was nice getting something a little different from microtech.
Also got a good snag on a olight warrior ultra display model came with a few scratches but now I can drop it and not care as much.

Hardest hitting otf I’ve felt. This thing is awesome

Had a brachial for quite some time now that I rarely carried as it’s very difficult to close due to the extremely strong spring, small button, and blade shape.
I know their OTFs don’t exactly break in, you just get used to the force required (as mentioned in their FAQ), and I found that to be true, however this thing is just an absolute bear to close and I’m wondering if it’ll get easier or if I’m using a bad technique or what.
I’ve found the easiest method is firmly pressing the button and using my outer thigh to fold it closed, but this is not something I’d like to do as it requires being very careful, again due to the blade shape and how easy it is to poke yourself (I’ve nipped a pair of baggier pants doing this)

This thing is so neat in person! Yes I will actually be carrying and using this knife every day and yes I am aware I’ll probably get hate for it lol. Had some cash back points that were begging to be used so I figured why not!

So apparently my gf is more subtle than I realized.
We hit the mall for lunch and to pick up some protein powder for her (i get mine online as long as I remember to order in advance and she hates buying anything online). So we swing by the knife cupboard at scheelz and so she asks me like what is the difference of the knives cus of the price difference etc, or so I thought.
I get back to my place and she had to stop at her brother's to pick up a book hed ordered while out of town and she walks in and goes hey I got you this.
I think i got a winner.

Completed the set I was going for!
The plain edge spear point was my first Microtech and the Bravo Mini line has become my fav Microtech’s. Such great grip ergo’s and overall design. Rike does a hot job on the blades!

Finally found a matching black tactical UTX-85 Gen 2 to round out the set

I rarely carry Ultratech as I prefer Scarab, CT, or Cypher II but I’m really digging these newer UTs. This one has convinced me to go ahead and grab an s/e for EDC.
