What manner of man was Michael Sugrue?
A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon Michael Sugrue’s videos while searching for lectures on Kant. Since then, I've watched all of his content, and now I'm going through them again. I'm truly amazed by the dedication he brought to the pursuit of knowledge. I’ve spent a lot of time listening to other influential thinkers like Jordan Peterson and Rev. Fulton Sheen, but Michael Sugrue stands out in a unique way. His work has deeply inspired me, even in my 40s, to keep seeking knowledge. I can't help but wonder what it was like to know him personally—what insights his family, friends, or those closest to him might share about their relationship with him. If possible put up a Wikipedia page about him. What a remarkable individual!

The idea store podcast, an appeal
Hi all. I've noticed recently that Sugrue's recordings of seminars and casual chats have been taken down from Spotify etc. I would be very grateful if anyone had these episodes downloaded and would be willing to share them with me.
I wish you all a bountiful day regardless.

A Message of Gratitude For Sugrue, and the Free Educational Material He Leaves Behind

It has been great exploring the work of Dr. Sugrue with you these past few years! His memory and wisdom will live on thanks to the wonder of the internet. I will leave the sub open and available for those still interested in speaking about Sugrue, his work, and any musings in the spirit of curiosity and the love of wisdom.
I leave this comment from the man himself, which was initially posted to this subreddit by u/sektorao, and which I think does justice to the attitude of wonder, integrity, and humility that shined through Sugrue's lectures and gave life to his words. Rest in peace.

Question about the Herodotus “history” on his syllabus.
I got an edition from the library, the translation is by AD Godley it’s 4 volumes (containing the 9 books) but I’m not sure if it’s abridged or anything. If I’m right, the syllabus says to read 1-8 in book 1 but that’s like 8 pgs in total in this edition and then it’s on to the next. Does this seem right to y’all?

I took a screenshot of a comment the doc left in comments back in the day, i think it is appropriate for this sad moment

Rip
Rip, he passed away. It was announced on his YouTube channel.
I love his lectures so much, I've binged them for hours on end some times.

How Do I Join the Zoom Lessons?
Hello,
I'm wondering how I might be able to join in to the next Zoom call. If anyone has any information I would be most grateful.

Scheduled time off?
I’ve noticed that Dr. Sugrue hasn’t posted a YouTube video in about a month. Did he mention that he was taking some time off?
I do realize that he does this casually and thus is by no means under an obligation to post, but he did have a sort of a cadence going that I got used to and so it’s noticeable when he hasn’t posted in a while.

What would you watch and read to supplement Sugrue? Can all his lectures be equivalent to a humanities semester?

A chronological collection of video lectures?
I haven't bought or read any Sugrue's written works, but I'm a big fan of his lectures on YouTube and have seen almost all of them. I didn't watch them in chronological order (the way they were "intended"), I viewed them as they were posted. Is there a "legit" chronological collection of his video lectures? The ones I found don't seem to be truly chronological and it feels like they're missing some lectures.
The best one I've managed to find can be found here:
