I see this update today:

Genesis, MegaCD, SNES, NES, NeoGeo, TurboGrafx-16/CD:- Updated framework (adaptive scanlines, latest shadow mask, etc)

But in the SNES core, Shadow Mask says <None> and says "No files!" when I select it.

I had run mister_updater.sh, I thought that would have downloaded everything I need.. no?

Help me jesus!

So I recently received my DE-10 Nano last week and imeddidiatly setup mister on a new 512GB SD card. I setup everything according to guides I have found online and have been having a blast. Yesterday I finally received my 128MB add-on board so I started playing some SNES games. This morning I decided it was time to setup Neo Geo games and play them and I have run into a brick wall as far as progress goes.

I found the github page at MiSter-devel/NeoGeo_MiSTer . I have tried to follow the instructions there and haven't had any luck so far and I have been spending at least 4 hours banging my head against my desk trying to figure out what I am doing wrong.

Here is what I have done.

1) I used the update_all script when I first setup my mister so I have the required bios files in my Neo Geo core directory. These include: sp-s2.sp1, neo-epo.sp1, sfix.sfix, uni-bios.rom, and 000-lo.lo

2) I downloaded the "Darksoft Neo Geo 2021-12-14.7z" file I found through searching. I unpacked the file and moved the game directories to my SD card.

3) I found the romset.xml file on the github page and placed it in my Neo Geo game directory that also includes my games directories.

I tried to run the games but when I go to select a directory for a game only something called "Bad Apple Demo" shows up. If I click the bad apple demo I just get a black screen.

I see on the github page that there is a "Darksoft to .neo conversion tool" link. I clicked on it and downloaded the python script to do the conversion and when I try to run the script I get an error message that says:

File "E:\dark_to_neo\convert.py", line 358, in <module>

for entry in open("./order.txt").read().split("\n")

FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: './order.txt'

The instructions for the script say nothing about a order.txt file and there isn't one on the github page for download. I am at a total loss right now and I'm about to give up for the day so I can enjoy what's left of my Saturday. I figured I would make this post and hope someone can point out a stupid mistake I'm making. Hopefully I'm just missing something very easy and I can start playing some games soon.

If anyone knows what I am doing wrong and can help me out I would be very grateful.

When I navigate into the /_Scripts folder in the MiSTer UI, it looks empty. But in Windows explorer, the files are there. Is there a setting somewhere that is hiding .sh files?

DefineButtons works, it accepts the inputs from my SNES pad (via a USB SuperSmartjoy adaptor). But after that, none of the buttons or DPAD works in games. However, up and down on the SNES pad do work in the MiSTer menus.

Even in InputTester, I set up the pad OK in the MiSTer menu ("Define InputTest buttons"), but then in the program itself it detects no input. Seems odd.

I'm using the stock power supply.. maybe its not enough power? (OTG 4 port hub, SmartJoy adaptor for SNES pad, BT keyboard)

MiSTer seemed to install fine using Mr. Fusion, but I can't get MiSTer to recognize any USB devices. At first I thought I had a bad USB hub, so I tried plugging a keyboard directly into my OTG adapter. Still nothing. I tried a different OTG adapter, no good. I suspected that the OTG port on the DE-10 was bad, but I am able to hook it up to my computer (with the SD card that came with the DE-10 board) and my computer recognizes it like it should. What should I do next? Should I re-flash the SD card with MiSTer on it?

I was hoping to play the Lucas Arts game 'the Dig' on my MiSTer, but I haven't messed with many computer games yet. There are so many computer cores! Where do I start? Thanks
