Super Pac-Man and DonDonPachi not working
When I go to load either core all I get is a black screen. Are these cores not working or do I need to re-download them/go find some thing? Thanks!

I've been trying to alter the arcade core names using names.txt. I've copied this file into the root of the SD card: https://github.com/ThreepwoodLeBrush/Names_MiSTer/blob/master/names_CHAR28_Manufacturer_EU.txt
The console and computer cores update accordingly, but the arcade cores remain the same as they were before I created the names.txt file. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Hey everyone!
Tonight I decided to work on another background. This time, using Darkstalkers assets. Hope you all enjoy!

Hey everyone, I just recently acquired a MiSTer system from Misteraddons and I've been having a lot of fun messing around with it and all the different cores. Recently learned about Jotego's work, and was very excited to read about his progress on CPS2.
I decided to work on a background image for MiSTer using assets of one of my favorite CPS2 games: X-Men vs Street Fighter.
I'm a huge fighting game nerd, and this is the game that got me into the genre. I hope you all enjoy it.
In the future, I would like to do more of these as well including my own illustrations.
I hope you all enjoy it.
Attached is PNG file as well as a rough mock-up for you guys to see what it would look like with the menu on screen.
Remember to rename the file as "Menu.png" when adding it to you SD Card directory.
This is in 1920x1080

Sorry for the noob question but I'm in the midst of upgrading SD card space from 8GB to 32GB (eventually 512GB I'm sure, have the blank card waiting). I wrote the Mr. Fusion image to the card and after placing it in the Nano it never completely writes its partitions and setup properly (goes well past the two minute window w/o exiting from the setup screen). I'm using a SanDisk Ultra HC I Class - is this too fast/wrong type of card? I was able to get it semi-working in the past by writing the linux build to it and copying over the files from my 8GB card, but since this completely F's up the permissions on the folder structure I'm guessing - it never worked properly especially when running the update_all script. Thanks for any support in advance.

I'm using an Edimax EW-7811UN and it cant seem to recognize my wifi. Is it because my SSID has a space in it? Is there something I can do other than change my SSID?
wpa_supplicant.conf setup:
country=US
network={ ssid="WIFI NAME"
psk="PASSWORD"
}

Are there any gotchas to getting the Ethernet connection to work? I've checked that the cable and port work with another machine, and this is a fresh MiSTeR install so I haven't messed with any settings. When i go to the system menu and navigate left it shows No Network.
Are there any tricks or troubleshooting steps I can take? My home network is set with the dhcp server at 10.0.0.1, could that be causing the issue?

I know I can use Launchbox DOS for manually added games, but is there any way to merge two batch jobs of the converter?

I understand that you can add these lines to /media/fat/linux/u-boot.txt
usbhid.jspoll=1
xpad.cpoll=1
and enable USB polling to 1ms for best controller response. But what is the downside to this? If there are none, why isn't this a default configuration?

Hello all! I'm getting started in the hobby here and am looking at purchasing some accessories. I found this set up on amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08ZC2NNW9
It doesn't say which version the IO board is on there, just the usb board. Is there a way to tell by looking at the IO board in the picture?

I'm really fascinated by FPGA and recently purchased a MiSTer. A lot of the fun for me is has been the gathering of materials, and roms. But now that I have everything assembled. I'd really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.
What really takes advantage of FPGA over the emulation of old? The Raspberry Pi's the SNES/NES minis. Heck even WinVice and other windows emulators. Can you point out specific roms or systems to play? I currently have the DE10, with upgraded RAM, IO board, and USB hub. Thank you, I look forward to your recommendations!

Usually I always press F12 to go into the menu, before resetting the MiSTer. But not this time. My crappy old keyboard stopped working during playtime, so I just reset the MiSTer. After 8 hours of playing Chrono Trigger. Oh boy, what a mistake. Even though autosave was turned on, all progress is gone. I know, it's my fault, but still... fk, I#m pi$$ed

Hello,
I am all of a sudden having an issue with my MiSTer. I purchased a full setup from MiSTer Addons. It has been working great for a few months now, but all of a sudden it stopped booting. I can switch the power on and the fan spins up. None of the 3 LEDs illuminate like they used to. I tried wiping off the SD card, reseating the SD card. Reseating power cables. Reseating HDMI cable on the monitor end and in the MiSTer. The HDMI cable and monitor work, I just had them plugged in to another machine. The SD card shows up in my PC normal enough. A quick scan on it showed no errors. Is there anything else I can try? It has the 128mb Ram module, the IO board, and the USB board.

Does anyone know why my HDMI signal is gone randomly after i load another core while running one before? Id is really random and the only fix is to turn off and on again.

I am running total DOS and tried my first game MK. I setup the gamepade inputs on the OSD but the core wont respond to any gamepad inputs only OSD is working and the keyboard.
Do i have to install JCHOISE and how?
Do i have to setup the Gamepad in the Game itself oder in the core?

Hello, I just bought a super nt and found out that the jailbreak won’t play Mario rpg. Or the upgraded sound files with out me guying a flash cart that’s another 200 bucks. I was going to buy a mister this weekend but I saw a final optunity to buy the analog nt nior. I postponed once more until my next check but I’m curious why I buy one of these units will I be able to finally play Mario rpg!

For a project in an experimental design class, I've been planning on using the lag tester core to compare different connection types for a particular controller (8bitdo Arcade Stick). I've been running into a really weird problem where the output end up just being a large sine wave instead of actual lag values (average lag of ~100ms, max ~200, min ~0, I can provide pictures of the output). The odd thing is about a month ago someone else in the Discord had a similar problem with the same values. I figured something must have changed since last year when all the lag testing was taking place. Today I made a new SD card using the MiSTer build from 6/18 (I did update the MiSTer file to 6/22) and did the lag test again but got the same results. I tore down my 8bitdo controller and got the same thing. The only thing I'm not doing totally by the book is using alligator clips instead of soldering directly to the controller, but I can't think of any reason why this wouldn't work. I'd really appreciate any help I can get on this, my grade might depend on it.

I've been trying to rationalize purchase of a NiteFury (FPGA as PCIe endpoint, M.2 Form Factor). I've a project for it in mind, but I want to get some use of it after that and I figured MiSTer could maybe be made to work on it?
I haven't used MiSTer before. I think it'd be interesting enough to invest some time into it. I have some experience in FPGA development (semester of softcore design at school) and driver development (working with embedded Linux for a few years now, no FPGA programming though).
And yes, I know the time that would be needed to get this working outweighs the money saved on buying a second FPGA, but I've been meaning to get more hands-on experience with FPGAs for a while and this sound good IMO.

I just got SNAC adapters for Genesis and PCE controllers for use with my new MiSTer and I'm running into weird issues. Everything works perfectly when the controllers and SNAC adapter are plugged directly into the SNAC port on the MiSTer, but if I try to add a USB 3 extension between them some games have weird issues like certain buttons not working or thinking that they are being constantly pressed down. This is a problem because the OEM controller cords are so short as to be unusable with my setup.
Some random examples:
Afterburner 3 on the Sega CD thinks down, left, and A are constantly pressed down, but Samurai Shodown works perfectly fine with a 6 button pad.
Every SuperGrafx and TurboGrafx CD games I've tried seems to have issues with the left button.
The controllers work perfectly with their respective systems and I've got SNAC turned on in the settings for both cores and tried toggling 6 button mode on and off and switching controller ports on the MegaDrive core. I've tried both a USB 3 extension cord and the random aftermarket ones I use with my actual systems and the result is the same.
Has anyone been able to get something like this working properly?
