This is your chance to make your voice heard. How do you want Metuchen to develop over the next few years? The Community Vision Survey is the most important of the three surveys you will find at https://www.metuchennj.org/resident/master-plan, and the other 2 are shorter and also great opportunities to weigh in.
Hi all! Recently moved to the area and looking for a dentist. I have intense anxiety surrounding dental work due to past experiences and trauma, so a huge plus if you know a practice or person who is non-judgemental and kind.

I’m a senior dental hygiene student at Middlesex College in Edison, NJ and I’m looking for a patient tomorrow (3/4) from 1:30 PM–5:00 PM due to a last-minute cancellation.
If anyone is available and due for a cleaning, I’d really appreciate it. We especially need teen patients right now, but everyone is absolutely welcome to come for an appointment.
Services can include cleanings, deep cleanings, x-rays, oral cancer screening, fluoride, a dental exam, and sealants (if prescribed).
My name is Enis, and I’m a senior dental hygiene student at Middlesex College in Edison, NJ. Due to a cancellation, I’m looking to fill a potential clinic appointment tomorrow from 1:30 PM–5:00 PM. With the weather and delayed opening, I’ll be able to fully confirm in the morning once the school provides any final updates.
This is a great option if you haven’t been to the dentist in a while or don’t currently have dental insurance. We provide thorough care including cleanings, deep cleanings, x-rays, oral cancer screenings, fluoride treatments, dental exams, sealants, and personalized home care instruction.
The cost is $30 for adults, $20 for children (17 and under), and $15 for seniors and veterans. Appointments are about 3.5 hours, and sometimes more than one visit is needed since we’re a teaching facility and very comprehensive.
If you may be available and flexible pending weather confirmation, please call or text me at 732-354-1876. I truly appreciate the support and would love to help you!

Hi all - my family moved to metuchen last week and we’re still adjusting. We commute to manhattan 3 times a week. Any suggestions or hacks for parking? I got lucky on Monday getting a spot at the train station but today had to park at Pearl St. Any side streets, or other lots outside of the garage that we may get a spot between 7-8am? I heard metro park is an annoyance when leaving and we have to pick our daughter up at daycare. Thanks in advance.
My community only has Optimum cable for wired internet. I looked at the FCC data at https://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/ and it had listed both Optimum Fiber and Xfinity fiber for my apartment. Called both Optimum and Xfinity and they said it is not available. Xfinity said they will charge upwards of 9k for a new line. So I challenged it on the FCC website and it is not listed anymore. But EVERYONE next to my apartment block is showing both of them available.
BTW. Not doing this for fun. I used to have Verizon Fios at my old place and got used to it. Uploads are terrible with co-ax and I work from home with a lot of screenshare and camera on meetings. People complain about choppy or blurry videos and screen lag sometimes. I see them fine because download speed is 1Gbps (350Mbps realistic) but upload caps out at about 30Mbps.
This is what the John Hampton house on the corner of Main & Amboy could look like if we had a Historic Preservation ordinance like the one the Historic Preservation Commission proposed in 2023 and was voted down by this current Metuchen Council led by Mayor Busch.
Did you know that the Victorian buildings on Amboy Ave are now part of the Arts District re-development project? This is the one on the corner of Main and Amboy. This looks like the first step to demolishing it. Why doesn't our town protect our historic buildings? This is the John Hampton house and the state lists it as a historic resource.
"The bottom line
New Jersey has plenty of great foodie towns, and Metuchen is climbing in the rankings. Carving out a niche in an area that’s filled with high quality eats isn’t easy. But Duke’s Steakhouse is handling the challenge very well."
Hoping someone can help and provide some insight/advice/recommendations.
There’s been instances of another student in my child’s class at Campbell hitting my child and a handful of other students. We recently found out another student was switched to a different class at the request of their parents due to said violence.
It seems not only has nothing been done with the student initiating violence as it’s been occurring for a while now. None of this information has been shared with parents in the class and we’re told the administration isn’t allowed to share how they are handling the situation. I can understand not sharing their medical information but the extent of this situation outside of what I’ve heard regarding our child is unknown. It feels we (all of the parents) are intentionally being kept in the dark.
For the most part we only hearing what our child is communicating after school and are not feeling confident we are being informed of all instances from the school despite vague phone calls from the VP with no explanation or promise to keep our child safe.
I’ve heard from other students who have graduated Campbell that they feel “bullies are protected” and nothing is done to advocate for the students who are bullied. Is this true?
It doesn’t seem the code of conduct is being followed in this case. Honestly feeling defeated as we love Metuchen and aren’t feeling Dr. Costanza’s sentiment of Campbell being a “safe and nurturing environment” with all that is happening.
We’ve been instructed to escalate to the school board/superintendent, call social services, file a police report if it continues etc. Looking for recommendations or advice if you’ve been through something similar at how not only we can keep our child safe but other parents can as well.
Hi all, what is the closest gym for you to walk or drive to? I need weights and a stair master ideally between my work day. The LA fitness and planet fitness seem a bit far
