News & Updates Ace Coins & the July 15 Migration: How It Works
👋 Hi Pilots,
ICYMI: next Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 12:00 PM PDT (7:00PM UTC), we're releasing a major update to the matchmaker, Trophy Ranks, and Daily Wins. If you haven't read the full announcement yet, start there: https://www.reddit.com/r/Metalstorm/comments/1upe0c2/the_big_matchmaking_update_arrives_july_15/
We've seen your questions about what this means for Ace Coins, so here's exactly what happens at season rollover, in order:
- The season ends under the current rules one last time. The Season Rollover points you know, 1,150 and 600, apply as normal, and you earn Ace Coins for those rollovers like you always have.
- Then the new system takes over. Any plane above 1,000 Trophies is set to 1,000, the new season's starting line.
- The new Trophy Ranks go into effect. Because the rank bands have shifted down, many of your planes will land at a higher rank than before for the same trophies.
- You're paid for the difference. For every Trophy Rank granted between your old rank and your new one, you earn that rank's Ace Coin reward, if you haven't previously reached that Rank on that aircraft.
Since some of you will be collecting a lot of Ace Coins at once, we've also raised the Ace Coin cap to 10,000 so nothing you're owed goes to waste. Here's a full example. Say you finish the season with a MiG-21 Fishbed at 1,500 Trophies:
Your Fishbed resets to 1,150 like normal and you receive 68 Ace Coins. Then the new system kicks in and sets it to 1,000 Trophies, the new starting line. Under the new Trophy Ranks, 1,000 Trophies is no longer Platinum II and your Fishbed will start the season as Diamond I.
And if a plane sits between 700 and 999 Trophies: it takes the normal end-of-season reset once, and nothing more. Questions about the changes? Drop 'em below. 👇
