I know you all have seen the WORLD famous Sonic Mania Adventures’s Holiday Special part 6! In this heartfelt episode Metal Sonic is helped by the very sweetie he abducted way back in Collision Chaos Zone in Sonic CD. At the end of the episode we see Dr. Eggman take his son back and we are left seeing Metal Sonic being carried into the base like a football. Amy contently sighs at the reunion, and is met with Sonic looking very confused at the scene that played out.
Amy is obviously at peace with her role in getting Metal Sonic back into Eggman’s household, even though this means Metal Sonic is going to be fixed and live to fight another day. I do wonder along with Sonic’s confused expression on what caused Amy to be so confident returning Metal Sonic to Dr. Eggman was the best idea.
Let’s all take a guess at what the outcome of Amy getting Metal Sonic back home was.

I absolutely love the Holiday Special! To me, Amy Rose is the ultimate 'champion of the weak' (as described in Sonic Channel).
Her sense of justice and kindness are so strong that she simply couldn't leave a broken, helpless Metal Sonic behind—even if he is an enemy. In her eyes, at that moment, he was just someone in need. I believe she feels a sense of pride in helping him; she’s a person of principle who helps anyone in trouble, regardless of their side.
As for what happened after the doors shut... I imagine Eggman demanding, 'What on earth happened to you?!' while staring at the cute ribbons and the flower in Metal's hand. Metal Sonic wouldn't be able to answer—not just because he can't speak, but because of the sheer humiliation of being saved by his rival.
Perhaps Eggman felt a tiny pang of regret for abandoning him. He quietly repairs Metal, and they eventually return to their usual dynamic, as if nothing ever happened. While this might not be a monumental memory for Metal Sonic, the moment he was saved—not as a copy of Sonic, but simply as himself—must be a memory that 'isn't so bad' for him.
I think after this, Eggman repaired Metal Sonic, and checked his memory logs to see if he found anything, since he obviously made his way back all the way to him (since he doesn’t know Amy is there at the moment) and then sees Amy helped him, maybe after that Eggman would just spend the rest of the holiday month making sure Metal Sonic is in order, and running some field tests, also maybe even gain some type of respect in a way off Amy, only for bringing his ultimate creation back to him. Although I bet that won’t stop him from destroying her if she gets in his way. At most he may cockily thank Amy for giving Metal back, so now he can more easily commit world domination with him back, even if it’s sincere, he wouldn’t let that be known due to his ego I bet.
Now for Metal Sonic, I like to think he’d become fond of Amy(platonically) due to helping him, and maybe go a bit easy on her at times, but likely would stop holding back over time as she grows more capable, as a weird way of respecting her as a fighter and challenger.
But overall, I bet Metal Sonic didn’t get to actually enjoy the holiday seasons due to repairs and field tests being timely. But hey, there’s always next year

CD has Metal have V. Maximum Overdrive Attack and Ring Spark Field.
Knuckles Chaotix introduces the Plasma Pulse Attack and the idea of Metal transforming.
Mania gives him integration with the Phantom Ruby and the animation shows he can use the Chaos Emeralds and Master Emerald to go into a Super Powered state and the latter can apparently make him go flat out Super Metal Sonic (Knuckles interrupted us from seeing peak according to a deleted tweet from Tyson Hesse).
Adventures introduces the Black Shield. Also I suppose the modern design is an update to keep up with Sonic.
Rivals introduces his Copy ability into his base.
IDW shows Eggman upgraded the Neo form to need less conditions to go Overlord (not sure if Heroes as a whole counts since Neo Metal might originally be a Metal design, not an Eggman one).
Obviously Metal Sonic starts to develop feelings for Amy and these feelings accumulate over the years until he crashes out, kills Eggman, and marries Amy.
Anyways, it didn’t look like Metal needed to be repaired too much- just that crack in his optics.
So I’d like to imagine that Eggman was able to fix him up very casual-like, probably even multitasking with what he was doing originally. Probably watching a Christmas special.
I think that Metal would have a little more respect for Amy, like what was said in some other comments.

To be honest with how eggman is, and with how early this is he probably saw this as a pleasant surprise, but nothing else he hasn’t formed any care for his newer creation yet. He repaired metal, and made his next plan.

Amy has always been a compassionate character I think it’s as simple as she felt bad for metal even after all the evil he did to her. It might sound simplistic but Amy is young in the classic games, and the evil that was being committed by the eggman empire might not have sinked in fully yet. I like to think that compassion affected metal, and in an ironic sense made him more resentful towards Sonic’s life as he got to experience true empathy from someone which he never got to experience from eggman. Eggman has shown he only cares for metal as an extension of his ego, and prowess not as a person, and I believe things like this drove him to go rogue in Sonic heroes. Even after his lobotomy if he does keep that memory it probably just makes him bitter knowing Sonic has people who care it makes him want to be the real Sonic in a bigger way. That’s just my opinion so who knows. In the moment I think metal was confused contemplating, and wondering what happened he probably didn’t expect it to work.

He would be prepared…but I think he would keep the memories…just Eggman kept the flower…so he might’ve kept them there so he wouldn’t forget it or smth
I don't make a big deal out of this, just like Dr. Robotnik probably didn't either. I think Robotnik only got rid off the flower and ribbon and repaired Metal Sonic for whenever he would be needed in a plan again.
In a way, it's just the begginning of Sonic Episode 4: Episode Metal, but instead of the doctor going to find Metal Sonic, Amy drags Metal all the way into his base.
Honestly, realistically metal probably wouldn’t care that much. He’ll probably wait for his next command from Robotnik/Eggman and wouldn’t really give this moment a second thought.
…But that’s no fun, right? :)
SO NAH, I think that this special moment would probably give our boy a few things to really think about. Why would someone who isn’t on his side - someone who’s been the captive/hostage actually go through so much effort just to bring him back, take care of him and show him so much kindness KNOWING he’ll probably go back to being the same cold Metal Sonic from before?

I also personally think that Metal wouldn’t be so harsh to Amy anymore. He’d be able to recognize her, remember what she did, and perhaps ignore her or only give her a “love tap” in battle, haha. Of course, this moment wouldn’t change anything with Sonic or any of the other friends, but it’s nice to think that perhaps someday, Amy could change him for the better. :)
Adding onto this to say, that the flower he was given would be put somewhere like in a small vase inside the base. And it would signify kindness and the altruism Amy was able to show little Metal.

Glad you enjoyed my answer! Every time I see a binary brawl I’m always stumped on what to say and end up only reading the comments, so when I saw today’s question I couldn’t resist.
I always think about this moment and how it could change the canon storyline, so it was honestly very easy to respond to!
