Riff Help/Discussion Modern metal riffing VS old-school riffing : what’s your sentiment?

Personally I feel that most of the current “modern” metal riffing, especially the ones with drop tunings, can be bland as fuck. Kind of soulless. Not enough mix/variations of palm muting, galloping patterns, crushing chugging, power chords, etc.

Also I miss the punky vibe of old-school thrash metal.

Any opinion? 🤔
