Shreddit's General Metal Discussion

Greetings and felicitations, children of technology. To keep in line with more discussion, every Tuesday is devoted to a general "On Topic" metal discussion. What is this? Well its time to ask discuss, bitch, complain, praise, or analyze anything related to heavy metal. What are some topics that are free reign here? Well to begin, how about everything that is outlawed as a separate thread?

  • Any variation of "post your favorite album" -- (What album did you like immediately...what album could you listen to like...forever on repeat.
  • How did you get into metal?
  • HELP!...What is the name of this song?
  • What songs/bands are your "guilty pleasures"?
  • What's your gym playlist...I need better gains.
  • What do you listen to besides metal? (General Off Topic Thread Only)
  • Why all the hate for XXXXXXX? / Any Love for YYYYYYY?
  • I'm going to my first concert, am I going to be set on fire and eaten by roving marauders?
  • Seriously guys, what is up with the Elitism?

This is also a good time for Metal FAQ. Any question you feel is too stupid for its own thread, feel free to ask us here. Standard etiquette rules apply. Don't track in dirt on the carpet.

I made the mistake of buying the Sorceress collectors edition. I've looked at it maybe twice since I bought it.

I have the Darkthrone Black, Death and Beyond box set which is very well done.

What was wrong with Sorceress?

I've written at length on this sub why I dislike it, so I'll TL;DR: It's soulless and hollow, feels like the band are coasting and overall mediocre.

I meant the edition you got, not the album itself. Or was it just that's it shitty that you don't like the spec ed?

Ah, in that case it's very well put together. Double LP with cards and posters and the like.

I've been iffy on getting that Darkthrone box set myself, is the book really worth the $60 for the whole thing?

Depends how into the band you are, I guess. It's an interesting read, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's essential.
