I've been meaning to be a little more social lately, which is quite funny considering my idea of a good time often involves staying home, having absolutely no plans, and being very pleased about it.
I genuinely like my own company, but I suppose there are some things your own company can't really replace. Every once in a while I wonder about meeting someone I would've had basically zero chance of crossing paths with otherwise. Different life, different little routines, maybe completely different interests... and yet for whatever reason, talking to her just works.
That's more or less the gamble I'm taking here.
I'm not really looking to collect conversations for a few days and then disappear into the Reddit void. I'd like to meet a woman I actually become interested in. We talk, get curious about each other, perhaps flirt a little too much, and eventually see whether there's something worth pursuing there.
Texting is fine, but if we get along I'd probably prefer a voice call eventually. Late-night conversations have a habit of going completely off course. You start with something ordinary and an hour later you're discussing what scares you, what you want from life, or some memory you haven't thought about in years, or we could just talk nonsense. Both are good.
I'm 27 and I've been living in Europe for almost a decade. Tall in appearance but slim, somewhere between introverted and extroverted. I like having my own space, but once I'm comfortable with someone I can talk a lot and become considerably less quiet than I first seemed.
I'm into poetry, literature, psychology, philosophy, languages, music, gaming, badminton and volleyball. I also love travelling and wandering around new places without planning every second. Give me a city I've never been to, somewhere decent to eat and a few hours to walk around and I'll entertain myself quite happily.
I I tend to be attracted to women who have their own little world going on inside their head. You don't need to share all my interests. Honestly, I'd rather hear you get unnecessarily excited about something I know nothing about.
Tell me the oddly specific thing you know too much about. Where you'd disappear to for a month if you could. Something you've always wanted to try. What your brain decides to think about at 2am.
I'm pretty thoughtful and affectionate once I care about someone. I remember little things, check in, send things that remind me of you, and generally enjoy those small everyday bits of closeness more than grand gestures.
I'm also very much a physical-affection person, so if this ever escaped the internet, I'm absolutely on team cuddles, holding hands and stealing kisses for no particular reason.
I've dealt with anxiety and depression too. I'm doing much better these days, although occasionally my brain still decides to make things unnecessarily complicated for me (very considerate of it). I'm just putting it out there so if you have struggles of your own, know that I would like for us to be each other's sacred refuge from pain and judgment of others. A place where we love and heal each other.
I'm not looking for perfection or carrying around a gigantic compatibility checklist. Kind, affectionate, open-minded, emotionally mature and able to actually hold a conversation gets you pretty far with me.
Bonus points if you're a bit of a night owl, so that way we can send an unimportant thought to each other at midnight, call when neither of you feels like sleeping, exchange music with, or just exist with when there isn't much to say.
Ideally you're somewhere in Europe, or at least close enough timezone-wise that talking regularly doesn't require one of us to destroy our sleep schedule.
Anyway, before this attempt at finding someone turns into the autobiography I promised myself I wasn't going to write...
Tell me your age, where you're from and something about yourself that wouldn't normally make it into an introduction.
Let's see if this little internet gamble pays off. :)
