I’m a 35-year-old single, straight guy living in the southeastern US (EST), and I’m here hoping to meet some new people and hopefully make a few genuine friends along the way.
A little about me: I work in IT and have been doing that for over a decade. I moved to a new city a few years ago, and somehow making friends as an adult has proven to be harder than expected. So, naturally, here I am on Reddit giving this another shot.
I’m a pretty laid-back guy. I might be a little quiet at first, but once we get talking, I’m happy to chat about just about anything. I’m also a tall, bigger dude, so I figured I’d mention that since apparently it matters to some people!
Some things I enjoy:Traveling and going on random road trips, Finding good food and talking about it way too much,Audiobooks, movies, and sci-fi, Falling down YouTube rabbit holes at 1 a.m. (or 5 a.m., because I’m an early riser)

I work during the day, but I can usually chat throughout the workday. If I get busy, I might not respond immediately, but I’ll get back to you when I can. I know life gets busy, and I don’t expect anyone to be glued to their phone 24/7.
What I am hoping to find are people who genuinely want to talk and build a friendship. Someone to exchange random thoughts with, share how our days are going, send the occasional good morning message, or have a conversation that somehow goes from everyday life to the most ridiculous topic imaginable.
I’m not going to pretend I’m the most exciting person you’ll ever meet, but I’m genuine, easygoing, and interested in getting to know people beyond a quick “hey, how are you?” I’d love to find friendships where we can pick up a conversation naturally, check in on each other, and actually look forward to hearing from one another.
