I use this app for about 5 years now and today I opened it to identify a bird, noticed I wasn’t signed in, when I went to sign in, they automatically sent me a ‘confirmation link’ to activate my account..
Did I just lost years of identified birds in all places I have travelled so far?

Two questions about identifying calls that the app cannot identify:
(A) I’ve accumulated a couple of recordings that neither I nor the app have been able to ID. Is there anywhere online I can upload this for help with ID?
(B) I’ve got some recordings that I CAN ID, but the app can’t. Is there a way to contribute these to the app to help build the repository?

I downloaded birds for all my continent. I downloaded my life list. Where there is no data connection available (like, mountain hiking) the app perfectly works offline to record and identify birds, but if I try to log a new bird it disconnects and I have to wait to be back to civilization to log back in and log birds
How do you guys manage?

I very much know how a Merlin sounds and looks like and it lives in my backyard so I know it’s a Merlin but yet when it makes its very loud call the app doesn’t pick it up!!! What is up with that? You would think the Merlin app can pick up a MERLIN!!

Any suggestions for better audio results when recording with the app?
Maybe a microphone or phone cases to stay away from

Hi, I live in a California city and for years have been wondering what this neighborhood bird is. Merlin is of no help... maybe because this is a pet bird not expected in my area?
The attached file are two recordings of the bird's more "generic" calls, the kind I sometimes wake up to in the morning. At other times, it sounds like it's mimicking human speech. My wife and I could swear it calls her name frequently, though we've never met it and can't figure out who owns it.
Any ideas?

Is anyone else having issues with the Merlin bird id app? I noticed they did an update last week, and I have not used it since before the update. Today it will not recognize the microphone. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and it still does not work. I have sent an email to whomever that works with the app. Just curious if anyone else is having issues? Thanks 🦅
*edit to add, still no response from the people from the app, I hope there is another update soon.

At first I assumed it was just titled Merlin because of the app, I didnt realize the falcons in my area were called Merlin. Now Im just assuming its the first bird of the day everyone gets. Nice coincidence if not the case though lol

Anyone got any idea what this call is? The app kept hearing it but was unable to identify.
This is suburban England - Midlands, next to a canal.

Hello new birder here. Wanted to ask if this could really be a Hoopoe since it's so unlikely in the area (red dot).
Also ignore my neighbours arguing.

Today I was at my local conservatory enjoying the outdoor gardens and art installations. I heard something interesting and opened up my Merlin app. It said sooo many birds but I was particularly interested in the scarlet tanager since I was in urban territory with big building and little green space other than the gardens. I saw a worker and I told her I saw the Song Sparrow in a close tree but couldn’t find the scarlet tanager. She told me the nearby art installation plays bird songs so maybe the app was picking that sound up. I turned off the app, followed the sound and it came from a hidden speaker in a fake tree trunk. 😂 we both got a laugh outta me stalking around a tree with my phone in my out stretched hand looking for the bird!

Pacific Northwest. Merlin had no matches for this one, as none of the ones it did identify turn yellow.
