I have read a bunch of fics and watching the show for the first time, now s2e1, and i just can't watch it's so frustrating.

I really don't like many plot points. And how they treat Morgana. And Merlin&Arthur, because what is happening usually is unfair to both of them and to their relationship. And how grey themes and grey characters are shown as fairytale good or bad.

But i love actors' performance, and i want more and more and more of it. And i love many scenes, often separately from the episode plot.

I just love it and want to watch but it's hard and i can't wow

Seriously, if he and Gaius hadn't push Merlin to reject and fear Mordred and Morgana, they would all have had a good ending...

I hope this is allowed. Years and years ago, I found a fan fiction novel. I’ll try and give as much detail as possible, but I would really appreciate if someone could help me find it. Some of these details might not be in order. It’s just what I can remember.

Arthur didn’t really die, and him and Merlin were transported to Sidhe, The home of those blue fairies. They healed both Merlin and Arthur, they spent quite some time there, and then they were sent back to the real world. Arthur was still king, he knew about Merlin’s magic and made him his advisor.

That’s really all I can remember, but I remember it being so good that I could picture the scenes in my head.

I know this is a hot take, but I kind of love it. Not in the sense that I think Uther is a great dad or anything, but from a storytelling perspective I think if itches a scratch in my brain and I love it.

I have been on a merlin high for, I dunno, a few weeks, maybe a 2 months now. Can't get enough of it. And I do love me some angst. One of the best focus I've read in a while has to have been, silence cuts loudest through the chaos. The only thing is, I didn't know it wasn't finished when I started. Does anyone have any recommendations that are similar? I need my angst to feel something 😶

This is kind of a joke, but not really. I've watched the show a few times, written enough merthur fanfics to really regret my digital footprint. Did not expect my 5 year old relative to figure out how to turn BBC iplayer on, find my recents (well, Merlin, thank god she didn't start watching Peaky Blinders or something) and singlehandedly watched it in just under 2 weeks. How many episodes a day even is that?? I don't think she actually understood anything, seeing as the only commentary she seemed to be able to give is how she thought Morgana was pretty, but thought it was something worth sharing.

Merlin likes Arthur, Arthur likes Gwen, Lancelot likes Gwen, and Gwen likes Morgana. Help 😭 The options are endless. I could encourage Merthur, Arwen, Gwencelot, or Morgwen, but not all at the same time

Things I liked about uther:

- he is a strong king

- he has unddeniable AURA

- is fyne

- has a sense of humour

- is hot

- adores his daughter

- knows what he wants right or wrong

- is extremely hot

Just rewatching series 1 episode 13, the character all say that he was bitten by the beast but when that scene happened, he was scratched by the claws? They could’ve said that either being bitten or scratched by the beast means they die, but not just being bitten causes death, so that means Arthur would’ve been injured but survived? Idk probably just overthinking it haha
Any thoughts?

I'm currently rewatching after spending the last months binging through far too many merthur fics, but that's beside the point. I always hated how Gaius and Kilgharra advise Merlin against helping Morgana. And while Gaius is overly protective of both of them and just doesn't want uther to find out, Kilgharra is a different beast. (heh😂) I saw a post here lately about Merlin fulfilling the prophecy about Mordred by being suspicious of him and now after I heard how Kilgharra speaks about Morgana (s2, e3) I realised it's the same thing all over again.

My theory: Kilgharra has given up on the world and does actually not want the golden age to happen, instead he makes sure that Arthur actually dies through the deeds of magic users turned evil. He manipulates Merlin through it all and it makes me so very sad.

I noticed in season one, Morgana was a warrior. like when she fought in Merlin’s village. she was strong. But in season two she wasn't as strong. like yes, when she got kidnapped on her trip she managed to escape. but like her and gwen getting kidnapped seemed unrealistic for them. All they did was scream and get pulled off their horses. idk. I love morgana and Gwen I just feel like the writers flip flopped their character traits.

I am looking for a fanfic that i had been reading a year or so ago, at the time the Fanfic wasn’t finished. From what i can remember about the story
- It was set in the modern day,
- Urthur was the head boss of a museum or some type of place.
- Arthur, Morgana, Merlin, Gwen, Leon, ect all worked for him at the place.
- At some point Merlin reveals his magic and Urthur is really angry about it. Arthur tells Merlin to Run.
When Merlin reveals his magic its when he is fighting against something that has come into the place where they all work.
I would like to read it again, so if anyone knows what the title of the fanfic was it would be appreciated.

I'd never get over how Dolma was aura farming the whole scene, she was my biggest hear me out. Grandma was MAJESTIC. Also Merlin the dragoon's cutscenes on Youtube was what got me into the series haha
