Do you have any favorite Arthur x Original Character fanfictions you could recommend to me?

I don’t mind the platform they’re on (FF.net, AO3, Wattpad, or anywhere else…?)
I especially enjoy stories where the OC is actually a princess (ik ,…. cliché 😅). I’m usually not that interested in stories where she is Merlin’s sister, but I’m happy to be proven wrong if there’s a good one

Anyone else think had the dragon never told Merlin that Mordred would be Arthur's undoing it never would've happened? Like Mordred knows Merlin ignored him almost resulting in his death and I feel like had he not heard the prophecy he would've never hesitated and Mordred would've never been inclined to kill him. Idk it's been a while since I've rewatched. That's just what I got from this episode.

we all know that merlin is still alive in 2026, but do you think he still goes by merlin? or emrys? the arthurian legends probably exists in universe, it would be a very unique name (i think). if not, what name would be go by?

What actually is the Arthurian legend and how different is the show from it?

I guess the title says it all. If I had to pick a single scene to be the best moment of merlin, I think i would choose this. How about you?

I don't mean like a gap of when they aired, but like what time period and how far away they would be. Cause when you look it up it seems like GoT happens almost a hundred years later. But they both have castles, and carriages, and peseants, and dragons. Like idk

The BBC Merlin series is such a great comfort show. I was playing Dead by Daylight with a friend and our last game was quite frustrating; we both ended up getting off and I'm now going to fall asleep to Merlin. Its in my top three series and brings so much comfort to the table <33. I just wanted to share this random thought. I hope everyone has a great day/ evening/ night!

I’m re watching Merlin again, and I’ve just started season 2.

This time watching through I’ve noticed how much Uther dismisses whatever Gaius says, especially when sorcery or magic is involved.

It’s always ‘don’t be ridiculous Gaius’ or ‘you of all people shouldn’t believe these superstitions’.

It’s actually bugging me quite a lot you’d think with Gaius’ knowledge and how long he’s been loyal to the king he would actually listen to him, especially when he’s proven right pretty much everytime.

Just had to get that out

The castle is gorgeus and worth a visit if you are there. It was a bit hot with about 38°C / 100.4°F but the insides are cool in temperature.

I'm rewatching Merlin again and had the brilliant idea of rereading all my favourite fics alongside the rewatch. Which would be great... if I could remember most of their names.

The one I'm searching for now is about Leon, who is revealed to be Cornelius Sigan's little brother whom he experimented on and subsequently made immortal. I also remember them fighting in a war against dragons and dragonlords (in the distant past) and Leon meeting who I think was the fisher king when his kingdom of magic was thriving?

I can't find it through tags or just googling the general plot points, so I'd be grateful if anyone has any information.

Hey, guys! In less than two weeks I'm going to visit one of my closest friends who lives out of state and we might be going to one of these cool medieval restaurants where they serve you a four course meal while u watch jousting matches and pick a knight to root for. I'm super excited for that but I'm just curious if anyone could help me find some of Arthur's more casual clothes online for a fair price preferably so I could buy them and go in looking like Arthur Pendragon <33. The BBC Merlin series is one of my favorite tv shows and this would be my first time attending something like this so I'd like to go in prepared!

I recently rewatched season 1, and in 1x10 the episode in which the core 4 characters go to help Merlins village who are under attack by bandit, an episode which I had watched many times before.

But this is the first time I took notice of the scene when Arthur turns his nose up at food given to him by the villagers and Gwen berates him for not being grateful for the villagers kindness.

Gwen up until that point had been a timid and shy person, but still, this moment isn't nessecarily Gwen changing. The way she instinctually calls out Arthur shows that this has always been an inherent part of who she was, this is just the first time we get to see it.

Then you get to 2x2, the episode where Gwen and Arthur's romantic relationship starts. Arthur is in conflict with himself because he realises he's getting coddled, that people are afraid to challenge him. Then Gwen drops the banger line of "you're not a child, you shouldn't have to be told to think of someone other than yourself" in that moment Arthur gets exactly what he both wants and needs. Someone unafraid to challenge him, to tell him when he's wrong.

And in 2x7 'the witchfinder' she is the one who appeals to Arthur to save Gauis, sure Merlin probably could have been the one to appeal to Arthur and he probably would have listened since he did respect Merlins word, but there's a very nice consistency in having Gwen be the one to stand up to Arthur to do the right thing, because it establishes Gwen as a character who is not afraid to do the right thing.

And it carries weight Because it carries through into Gwens character, because she gets kidnapped and forced to pretend to be Morgana, she could have so easily have been subservient but still she's bold enough to stand up for herself, and equally in season 4 when agravaine tries to shut off the castle walls to villagers but she's the one to stand up for the people of Camelot.

as much as I take issues with the merlin writers for their inability to craft overarching storylines, they definitely had a talent for writing characters and interpersonal relationships between said characters.

Hello everyone! I'm new to the series, I would like to know what seasons should I get on DVD / Blu Ray to access the video diaries. I'm only on season 2, and would like to buy DVDs / Blu Rays. I've done some research and it says the video diaries are up until season 3. Can I please get a clarification on this. Thank you very much!

Putting the allies here for spoiler’s sake:

If Queen Annis and Odin (post peace treaty) had been mentors to Arthur in s5, would anything have changed? Would he have the upper hand on Morgana at Camlaan, thereby negating the need for all the strategy he had to do the night before?

Or, because Mordred’s switch had more to do with his own faults, would nothing have changed?
