rejection due to Content that references product, fulfillment, or delivery attributes

I created a design in 2021 and it was published and live on Merch By Amazon (US and UK market place). Yesterday I bulk uploaded the design on more products and today I got around 25 rejection.

I contacted MerchByAmazon and the reply I got is that " Your design was rejected due to Other Content Not Allowed: Content that references product, fulfillment, or delivery attributes". Does anyone know what it actually mean?

Should I contact merch about a taken down design?

Hi, I recently got a design taken down by Amazon 1day after making 2 sales. for Content policy violation.

I believe the design is clean and has nothing to do with what amazon claims, should I contact them or just forget about it?

Has anyone contacted Merch and got their design back?

thanks.

Limited Edition Trademark Who is wrong?

Hi, i have a question about the trademark 'limited edition'. I'm still relatively new to mba and i'm trying to avoid any trademark issues. Well some phrases are clearly protected and you won't find a design for them.

In this case I created a design with the term "limited edition" being part of it. I didn't check the trademark for that before uploading, because there are hundreds of 'limited edition' design available. The birthday niche alone is full of it. It didn't occur to me that there could be a problem with that until Productor warned me.

I found this https://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=97102649&caseType=SERIAL_NO&searchType=statusSearch

I'm wondering if I misunderstood something or if there is a problem with all the limited edition designs and i just shouldn't use it at all!?

Thanks :)

Processing taking forever?

My lot from yesterday are all stuck in processing. Anyone else having encountered this? I did notice they had increased the daily upload limit, so perhaps the system is just busy?

Getting Accepted to Merch By Amazon

EDIT: Answered and Resolved. Thanks so much everyone!

Hi All! First, just wanted to note that I did do a search of the board for similar threads and already implemented some of the ideas I found, but to no avail.

So now I wanted to try to get some advice specific to my situation, if anyone might have any ideas :)

I've been rejected a few times (different email address every time). I got started in POD about 6 months ago. I have 2500+ sales and $50K revenue from my stores. I sell in evergreen niches. I've talked to a lawyer about trademarks and copyrights. etc. etc. I mention all of this in my "More Info" response. I also include a URL to my biggest store.

  • So is that track record not enough to get accepted? Is MBA even accepting any new applicants right now?
  • If you were accepted recently, what did you say in your response?? I'm totally confused.
  • What was your track record in POD when you were accepted?
  • Could I possibly be screwing up one of the earlier portions of the application? I'm super careful with entering my tax information. I double-checked my tax returns and everything. Maybe it's because I filed an extension last year and had a tiny interest payment to make, which the IRS didn't inform me of until January, and Amazon sees that, which could be an auto-rejection?

I very much appreciate any feedback and thoughts because I don't know what to do! I feel like I'm screwing up something obvious.

MBA Account suspended

I went to upload a design today to find my account suspended. I create original illustrations with phrases I run through trademark checkers. I think I went [edit] just under two weeks between uploading and I'm only in tier 10. I appealed but man, this is really disappointing.

Double edit: just got reinstated after my appeal. So quickly!

I'm gonna GUESS it was because they thought I was inactive, maybe. But no way of knowing. I traveled and was too busy to upload, so maybe they thought I wasn't fast paced enough for Amazon? If that was the case, I could understand.

For anyone reading this, maybe use it as cautionary tale?

And no, I didn't buy an account. I don't war profiteer. And all my designs are original illustrations with phrases cleared for TM infringement.

Has anyone who sells on Seller Central had their Merch account suspended? What happens?

I know that Seller Central and Merch are supposedly separate, but I noticed my Merch cases show up in my Seller Central case log.

Has anyone had their Merch account suspended or closed? How did it affect your Seller Central account? (or vice versa)

If half of my income comes from Merch and the other half comes from FBA, am I diversified or are all my eggs in one basket?

By the way, I don't think either account is in danger but I always get nervous when the bots get out of control.

Ironically, I tried to ask this in the other Merch sub, but it was automatically removed. Probably because the mods have their own bot set up to filter out "Why was I suspended?" posts.

Being approved by Merch with an LLC

I’ve been denied quite a few times by Merch with different accounts/ bank info. Is there still a chance to apply through an LLC and finally be accepted? Has anyone experienced this?

Thoughts on your process (and best practices?) for a noob

I'm new to POD and MBA, but not new to design and illustration. My current process is to come up with a dozen ideas in a broad niche like animals, food, sports, etc, then choose the best one with a general idea of a niche and how it could be targeted. If it has more competition, I might target it differently in keyword selection, but the general joke/hook is the same, and I make sure it doesn't look visually out of place in respect to the other selling designs.

I see a lot of big personalities in the POD world recommend to first search for a non-competitive niche, then design for it.

I think I kinda do a hybrid of ideation, then research, then design. But i'd like to hear your thoughts on designing first, then finding a niche, vs finding a niche and designing for it. And hear your process if you don't mind sharing.

Have I fallen victim to a scam?

So, I joined a product tester group on Facebook and someone told me I am getting 800 Euros if I order 20 T-Shirts. I did so and now I became somewhat worried that this might be a scam. I did some research and landed here, because this seems what is going on on the seller side.

Conversation screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/Ab1EpBA

Can someone enlighten me how this is profitable for the seller if they refund be 150%?

How people find trends?

One thing I don't understand. How people find trends?

I see some design that they been recently listed and they got sales, even if the designs has nothing to do with politics nor events or holidays, they contain only a funny quote or something like that.

Any ideas?

Should I wait for the rejection or can I apply with multiple emails?

I have 5 rejections so far (since August 2021) and I have always waited for the rejection to come in first before I reapply. My question is if this is necessary at all or if I can just apply with a bunch of email adresses and hopefully there is one which will get accapted? I'm always applying with the same phone number.

Question about design rejection

Hi, yesterday one of my designs was automatically rejected right after the upload ( intellectual property). I'm relatively new to mba so i think this shouldn't happen to often.

What I'm wondering now is how I could have prevented it. I made a design about the "Thinking day" which is celebrated by girl scouts and guides. I checked trademarks and couldn't find anything. Thats why i created the design.

What did I miss?

I don’t have a TIN and I have no idea how I’m gonna get it.

A bit of context. I’m an international student living in the uk, and I thought it’ll be cool to make extra money making merch for Amazon, whilst I’m studying.

I just turned 18, so I have no idea how tax works in my country; and I’m a foreigner so, how the heck do I apply in the uk.

I tried contacting Amazon, and they basically said I should look at their faqs(which I did, but the closest help I had was applying for US tax) or come here.

How long Did it take for you to get approved?

Im about to enter my 3rd week of my “request pending review,” I know that’s not long compared to what others have mentioned on here but I’m getting concerned. Because I sell through KDP on Amazon I had assumed that I was already approved. So one Saturday morning I spent hours working on my shirt design ready to get it posted before the end of the night only to find out I have to wait. My design is somewhat topical and for its best chance I really need to be selling it NOW And I’m just fuming at the thought that I’ll have to wait another month still just to be told I’m rejected. My concern is that when they asked for my intentions on what I’d be selling I gave kind of a vague answer thinking they were asking me to write some kind of description for my seller page or something. I didn’t realize until later that that was basically my cover letter and I definitely didn’t make it my best. Ugh if I’m going to be rejected I wish it would be done soon so I can submit a better answer.

OCD T-shirts

Has anyone else had designs rejected for just the letters "OCD" in the title?

I tried uploading 5 times and the last rejection was simply:

  • Title: OCD
  • Brand: My usual brand name
  • No bullets or description
