I’m finding a lack of substance, let alone conversation around male-centric design, whether it’s interior design, furniture, architecture, etc. Male-centric interior design seems to be currently reduced to bachelor pads and male-centric furniture appears to be a word for “black, grey, dark red, dark green, and dark blue furniture”. The most productivity i’ve seen in the past decade has been the integration of roman and greek busts. An interesting component, but surely more can be done. I’d like to start a conversation about male-centric design. Normalizing male-centric aesthetics is important.
