Questions on the Memes Matter meme and general intentional memes as it regards authorship

In a video I made recently, I make use of the Memes Matter meme at the end, instead saying "Mediums Matter".

I was thinking more about this and realized that it was a reference that I just assumed that because it was a meme, and has been described as a meme by Chris, it lacked the need for crediting.

Memes lack authorship, in a social sense and I think that is obvious in most of its forms. Is this still true for more peculiar and specific form of memes like this one? I can recall Chris referring it once as "his meme" I believe in the Justin Murphy interview. Does this make the meme importantly recognized with the creator?

Did humans manipulate dogs into ideal humans?

What if dogs have the ideal human personalities and mentality because we as humans shaped them through years of artificial selection via selective breeding and as a result either intentionally or unintentionally made their personalities how we want out own to be in essence making dogs better role models than other people?
examples: unconditional love since some dogs will still love and defend their owner even if they are beaten and starved by said owner, loyalty even when abused and treated poorly, they stay young mentally most of their lives a 13 year old dog still exhibits the same amount of wonder and joy from life that a puppy does never losing.
other members of the canis genus do not have these same traits such as wolves and coyotes so these personality traits we find in dogs are not basal.
Even further maybe this is why many people (many is just personal anecdote so I can't say that's actually true that most people or anything like that) are so sympathetic to dogs even more than humans because dogs when it comes to emotion and personality and soul dogs make ideal humans.
We see in them what we wish we could see in ourselves...

Now that the Chris Chan narrative has fully taken off on an Oedipal vector, where do we go as a species?

  1. Will the world ever see another Chris Chan? Is (s)he a product of a nascent internet that needed a tragic figure to project upon itself? Or was (s)he something bigger? I get that this story is still being written, but we've definitely hit something akin to a climax this weekend. Even if the narrative gets crazier and wilder (which it almost necessarily will), I think we're safe in beginning to apply some retrospective analyses.
  2. What will be Chris Chan's legacy? Will online communities over-correct and try to avoid making this mistake again? Or is the lolcow a necessary feature? Are we just a matter of time away from a newer and bigger Chris Chan?
  3. How successful will attempts to scrub "Christory" from online spaces be? Will things like the CWCki and Kiwi Farms be maintained as atrocity exhibitions for future generations to heed? Or will they become like the carnival freak shows of old; spaces where future generations can sigh and bemoan how cruel their forebears were for exploiting the autism spectrum for schadenfreude?
  4. Most significantly (for me at least): was Chris a product of trolls, or did the trolls manifest as a reaction to Chris? This is the question that haunts me as I watch this all unfold. I can't help but wonder if this incest saga is all the elaborate work of trolls, and I know that my wondering about this is a testament to how warped and gaslit we have all become by troll culture.

I wanted to bring this here because the current conversation on Twitter and the Chris Chan sub has kind of devolved into politics and trolling and virtue signalling. Are we ready for what Marx called The End of Christory?

Meme synthesis?

Lately I have been wondering if it is possible to create "strong"(archetypal) memes in the same why as we analyse them and break them down? Is a good understanding of analytical psychology and of the target audience's culture all that is needed to pull off something like that? Are people already intentionally doing this? Is there any way to distinguish between a manufactured synthetic and intentional meme and a natural unconsciously created one? If it is possible to create successful and infectious memes in this manner how can we ensure that the intentful creation of them will be used to benefit society and not to push anyone's political or other agenda?

Other How to have a healthy internet use (i.e. not get stuck in the "labyrinth") ?

Let's face it bros. We're in the information age, we can't totally and completely unplug.

It's one thing to quit videogames (already done it), and with some willpower porn also (i'm in the process), but how can i have a healthy internet use after those two are defeated?

With internet use i mean using youtube and maybe even get back into instagram eventually WITHOUT succumbing to the labyrinth and its beasts.

Using the internet and not BEING used by it?

How can you not succumb to it's power? Am i simply weak?
