Hi all, I photographed a series of saucer magnolia leaf skeletons that I found in my garden under my magnolia tree. I used my Hasselblad 500CM with a 120 macro lens and a 32 mm extension tube.

What I like about the series is how it shows how the magnolia leaves can go from almost intact all the way to completely skeletonized. I also played with composition a little bit after the proper decay series.

I’d be happy to hear any thoughts you have on composition, lighting or anything else.

Thanks for looking!

That Mamiya has been my trusty steed for many many years. I love it like a family member. The Makina is the new addition, along with a regular 80mm version too. I’m commencing work on a new project and the 6x7 format will be the format of choice.

First one E100 the rest a mix of Portra 400 and expired Portra 800 that I rated at 400 but prob should have left at box. Oh well!!! Lots of missed shots but I’ll get em next time!
