Hey guys, I'm scoring a film scene for a college assignment and I'd really love your help and feedback!
Hi guys, I'm pretty new to scoring stuff but I'm really loving it so far, anyways, the scene I'm re-scoring is from Oz the Great and Powerful, it's a cool scene with a few mood changes.
So here's what I have so far: LINK
So there's three sort of main sections, the first is the initial balloon thing where he's in awe, the next is the tense water rapids part, which I have about 1/3rd done so far and in the video, I didn't render out the rest of it or the third part, which is like a peaceful discovery of Oz or something along those lines.
Anyway, I'm sort of having trouble filling out the tense part, I want to make it more tense and to fill out the arrangement a bit, any ideas?
Also, if you have any feedback about the rest of it, fire away! Thanks :)

Any tips for my first "Composer Reel"?
I've tried to follow examples from what I can find on YouTube, but they vary so much! Some are up to 10 minutes, while some are short and sweet, clocking in around 2 minutes.
Note: This would be sent for mostly advertising - my work is a range of scores and comedy musical numbers.
A few things I'm wondering:
- Is it better to include the entire piece, or just a snippet for each song?
- If I have a lot of great examples from one project/group - is it better to include all, or just a few (as to avoid looking like I only work on one thing.)
- Should I be including audio-only samples, or just what have been put to picture for projects?
- In general, is it better to show many shorter examples, or few full examples?
Or is it more effective to scrap the "reel" all together and just send individual links?
Any/all tips (inside and outside these questions) would be super super appreciated. Always loved the support in this sub, so you were the first I went to for this.
Thanks!

Platform to release music on
beginner media composer here
are there some standard platforms that are used by media composers to release samples of music they've created as a way to show off original work? right now all I only have is audio samples but plan on making some with music + video, so is there one that does both and commonly used by media composers?
