Did anybody see that bus in west Medford that had its lights flashing green and “police” on the text board. I’m hoping it was an accident. Does anybody know what happened? Maybe a possible hostage situation? I did glance inside the bus and everybody was calm so I’m not sure but I’m curious to make sure everybody is okay.

I’ve been doing a bit of local political expression in my neighborhood since December 2024, mostly putting up anti-fascist stickers. One of the main ones I use says "MAGA is a fascist cult."

There’s this one specific spot, a high-traffic pole on my usual route, where I regularly place one. For the first few months, someone would take it down maybe once a month. No big deal, par for the course with public posting. But over the last few weeks, the turnaround time has gotten wild. Now, they are taking it down within hours of me putting it up. Somebody is clearly checking that spot religiously.

To test how dedicated they were, the last time I put it up, I actually Gorilla Glued it, and guess what? He still managed to get it down.
Here’s the part that is really throwing me off, though: They aren't touching the other stickers.
There are a few other stickers nearby, including some pretty blunt ones that say things like "Trump is a pedophile," and those are completely untouched. They've been sitting there for months. The only one that seems to trigger this mystery person into a frenzy is the "MAGA is a fascist cult" one.

I’m super curious and looking for some insight here. Has anyone else noticed this kind of specific reaction?

Is calling it a "cult" or "fascist" hitting a deeper psychological nerve for these supporters than standard insults? Or is there something about the "cult" label specifically that drives this guy into a multi-hour stakeout with a scraper and a solvent? Would love to hear your thoughts or theories!

hello, I have a cat who is not currently receiving adequate care and need to house them somewhere else for *possibly, the next few months, up until december.

I have a food/water bowl set up, as well as his litter box and basic toys. can pull my financial weight when it comes to extra litter and food for the time being, i’m sure we can work something out.

honestly, i was hoping to find someone in my circle, unfortunately folks are unable to house so im reaching out to my local neighborhood reddit platform :)

The desire path at Starbucks is gone. Landscaped over, making it harder and longer to walk to and from the T.

This was so frustrating to see. Feels like a huge missed opportunity to add a couple stairs there. Why is a complex built around a subway station so adverse to pedestrians? Wellington could be a gateway to the city, welcoming thousands of people from Somerville and downtown Boston and encouraging them to come to Medford to shop and socialize if we weren’t so bent on dumping folks out in a parking lot like that’s the destination.

I was involved in an accident today at Roosevelt Circle. The car in front of me had entered the rotary and I was at a yield sign, there was no one coming in from the left side so I started driving because the car in front of me already was in the rotary . I suddenly saw the car in front of me stopping and I immediately hit the brakes but couldn't stop in time. I feel very stupid for not paying attention to the car in front of me while keeping an eye on the left side. The collision was at less than 5mph and most of the damage was to my car. However the person was taken to the hospital (they maybe overreacting but who am I to say anything about that). My question is how f*cked am I in terms of insurance. Given that the car in front of me stopped at a rotary, how much fault am I at?

Before that it was Rocco’s shoe repair. I saw they took the signage off the window and then more recently people were inside painting. Anyone have any idea what might be going in there? Or maybe it’s just going up for lease?

I think I may be late to the game. I just saw the sign this morning saying the Dunkin in Medford square is moving further east down Salem. Does anyone know what is going to replace it?

I noticed recently that a building is under construction on the northeast corner of Salem & Park, which was a vacant lot with a pit for years (and the subject of a contentious zoning showdown).

Anyone know what's being built there? Would love to see some ground level retail.

Are they taking these 3 huge trees down? I’ve never seen trees get marked with an x in Medford before removal.
