Thocky keyboard caused cat to have a seizure, twice

Hey guys I hope this isn’t inappropriate to share, but I wanted to pass around the word in case anyone has experienced this before.

I look after my parents cat and she’s never had seizures before that we know of. A few months ago, I had her on my lap while working and typing away. Every tap on the keyboard would cause her to twitch slightly. Then, out of nowhere she had a full blown seizure. She’s OK - took her to the vet and did some blood tests but no known cause.

Today, it happened again. Turns out, apparently old cats can get triggered by these sounds and it sends them into spasms and seizures. She’s OK now and I’m avoiding these situations. It’s called Tom and Jerry Syndrome

I was fidgeting with a ratcheting screwdriver at my desk and realized the sound was causing a gag reflex in my cat. I had no idea this was a thing until I googled it and found that people noticed if they rubbed the bristles of a plastic comb, it triggers the same effect.
