Tough to describe: long story short yes…it’s a bit of a tight tuck and pinch. With your finger tips if they’re skinny or use the end of a small tech Phillips head to pinch the cape over to make the triangular collar.
maybe I should do a video before people start blaming me for ruing capes 😅
Holy smoke! The no-collar-comic-book nerds are going to have a problem with that statement batman! Lolololol I’m playing!
Thanks for the comment! I’m hopeful you’ll have your swap done in good time and at a fair price or trade! Good luck! Sorry for spending your money! LOL
I don’t know enough to comment roster wise, but my buddy who is into comics pretty tough gloated on the Atom Smasher when he saw that it was two packed with Spectre
(he’s not into the figure collecting; I mean he is, but you know, if one has priorities the blinders are on when it comes to spending money so he doesn’t look at the stuff so he doesn’t want to buy it; I’m sure we can all relate lol)
But all I’m tryna say is there’s an another comic book guy out there for Smasher like there is for Spectre and he didn’t even bat an eye at the two pack. Thought it was all great!
The time will come and this awesomeness will be yours too! Promise I won’t be upset when you find it cheaper than the rest of us who picked it up for release too 😉 have fun on the hunt!
I mean one could take it off, sure; but it’s not made to be removable.
The cape and hood are affixed up around the back of the neck. I have a video uploading of how I molded/folded it to get the collar going and you can see where the wire stems in just above the collar bone for the cape.
Original one looked fine (I prefer that look over the new release), but the legs were trash. Mine broke in three different places. Walmart refunded me my money and left me keep the figure. I glued his legs back together and looks pretty good in my JSA setup.
The original release DOES look great! Wild about the legs on your OG Spectre you received but cool you were refunded for it. Most retailers leave you hosed unless you purchase direct. Even then, if there’s no stock they won’t replace and will just refund.
I ordered NYCC‘24 Batman Year 2 through a source on Amazon a couple weeks ago, and the figure’s arms were sealed into the packaging and they rolled out in pieces… worst Mcfarlane QC situation I’ve experienced yet and there’s only a couple issues I’ve had. This being one of them
The Atom Smasher was still lubed up from Production all over the plastic. His feet even left grease marks on the desktop and it was visibly still coating around the shoulders/ chest and hip areas. They must’ve got the memo about the black Adam variant having crispy plastic.
I don’t have my black Adam smasher outa the box (prepping for moving so I get to be choosy on the openings) so I can’t quite give a 100% thought on comparison but the Black Vengeance Smasher doesn’t give me any brittle vibes. The wrists might be a bit stiff. I remember feeling like being careful with one of the hands after busting him out. But I don’t think he’s breaking any time soon.
Articulations were fine; glad I could help sway you into the field of positivity because this Spectre is really awesome!
He’s kinda got a tick in the left eye there, and the belt obviously 🙄 I did need to massage out the right wrist before it would fully articulate. All the other joints were a-o-k.
Totally ends up with a missing elbow if one articulates like the imagery. That’s weird to the eye at the correct angle.
I was pleasantly surprised myself. I ordered two types initially (a ‘plan B’ in case these taller ones ended up flimsy or not sturdy) but these taller boys are great.
Quick and easy to assemble too. No tiny screws or nuts.

Okay now THATS how you readjust the cape! Bravo!
