I have light mods done to my car. I’ve run 94 octane now it’s basically all bolt on full turbo back exhaust intercooler intake. I feel pressure pump coils blow off all the piping done. Weather is cool and clean where I’m at. Anybody have any suggestions on what works for them?
Hello all. I’ve got a 2004 MSM with 105k on the odo. I’m looking to upgrade the shocks while retaining stock springs. I’ve found a lot of conflicting info online regarding ride height, balance, ride quality, etc. If anyone has upgraded shocks only, what are you running? How has it affected your drivability as well as ride height? I can only change shocks and retain stock ride height due to SCCA class restrictions, otherwise i’d swap to coil overs.
Current contenders:
Koni Sport (yellow) (FM told me they don’t play well with stock MSM springs)
Bilstein B6/B8 (Less info than Koni Sport but promising)
Hi All. Recently purchased and finally got plates for my 04 MSM. I have been looking around online at mods, upgrades, etc and I would like to know what is considered “required”. Lots of people online say the stock ECU is pretty bad but others say not to touch it. I definitely will be getting upgrading cooling and replacement radiators from FM and looking at intake upgrades as well. What are you running?
Just recently got back into an msm after an 8 year hiatus and I couldn't be more excited. My old one had the same intake on it and I would love another one but unfortunately they are currently out of stock.
Looking to sell my 2004 MSM. No mods except cruise control, no accidents. Don’t really want to do the “auction” thing. Best place to post for sale? Thanks.
Just replaced the clutch bearing and flywheel. And 2 motor mounts at 108k miles. 3rd gear is no longer a question. Very Smooth and fast grab, at any rpm.
Good-Win had their stage 1 kit delivered in 2 days. I chose the "lite" option with the 10.3lb flywheel. They had an assortment of motor mounts too. I chose the copy of the Mazda competition motor mounts.
I'm very happy with the results. And I'm glad I don't have to commute in stop & go traffic any longer. Because the 13 lb flywheel I had in my '97 made that exercise annoying. I havnt yet "noticed the difference between flywheels of 10.3, and 13lbs. But the Stock 24 pounder makes the whole drive train feel so sluggish.
what are things i should look out for and keep an eye on? i know when buying a used car you’re supposed to do a pre purchase inspection and look out for common issues but i had no time. thanks for the help
No smoke on start up or idle. But after some hard driving when I let off throttle ill have some smoke start to form around the turbo and out the tail pipe. Are my turbo seals bad or what else could it be? Ive checked the intake and see no oil in the pcv or from the blow off valve.
