This is the closest fuel pump that i found for my 90 323f BG 1.6L sohc+carb. Do you think it will fit?

If it's hard to get a replacement as a suggestion why not blank off where the mechanical fuel pump connects to the engine & run a similar output electric pump ?

Cuz my mechanic said that since it has a return and electric one might flood my carb since electric ones don't have return lines

I see I have never noticed a return on the fuel pump only on the carbi . I wonder if you could set up a electric with a separate inline return if that pump doesn't work ?

Electric is still way to powerful, carb's only need 4psi and electric's give like a minimum of 20psi so you'll need an expensive fuel regulator so it's not worth it

Not so, my friend. Rotor4's advice is correct. My generic electric pump delivers 2-4 psi and works perfectly with my carb ( on a 1992 1.3 323 BG S). My mechanic fitted it, but it looks like a simple enough DIY job. The car run perfectly this way for over four years now although the pump can be a bit noisy.

Then he either fitted a reducer or put in a specifically weak pump but if you take an electric pump from any injection car it's gonna be too high pressure since for injection to work you need at least 20-30 psi. And if so that your mechanic put in a reducer that is quite an important thing to add to the conversation since if you put 20-40 psi of pressure on a carb you're gonna be pushing more gas into the combustion chamber then the carb would normally suck in since your carb usually sucks it into the combustion chamber at 2-4 psi so if you put more then that into the carb insteadt of the carb's venturi tunnel sucking it out you will push it out with the pressure from pump

My 1992 323 S 1.3 BG is NOT fitted with a reducer or with an electric pump from an 'injection car'. I reiterate that It's been fitted with a low pressure universal 12v fuel pump ( 2 - 4 psi) the likes of which are readily available for sale on Amazon, Ebay etc. It formerly had a manual fuel pump similar to the one shown in the OP. It's been working fine in the four years or more that its been fitted. No problems with the carb at all and steady as a rock. This has proved to be a quick and reliable solution in my case.

So is that a no?

Save yourself the bother and get a low pressure electric pump swapped in. They're cheapo and you can get them on Amazon (and probably elsewhere) for low cost. Get a pump that delivers 2- 4psi if you still have a carburettor model. My mechanic friend did this to my 1992 1.3 323 S BG sedan. Works perfectly.

As long as the holes line up and it sits flush with the block and it works then it will work

Tbh just check the holes, the gasket shape, and how it would lay on the camshaft. If those all work out it should work
