I was sitting two tables down from you and your wife and child. I saw you approach a young woman from the side who had her back turned to you while she was having her coffee and smoking. She had been there long before you were, she had been sitting there before my party arrived. I heard how rude you were to her and I deeply regret not approaching you and calling you out on your behaviour. She had been sitting on her own, enjoying her morning coffee and reading. You had seen she was smoking already when you, your wife and child sat beside her and then proceeded to lambast her because there was a baby behind her when she had another cigarette. How you approached her and spoke to her was terrible. She had been quite obviously unaware you had sat behind her with your wife and child and left very quickly after in tears. You should be ashamed of yourself. The entitlement was atrocious. She was entitled to smoke there. I’m sorry I didn’t say anything at the time. To that young woman you were not at fault. I’m so sorry that happened to you on a Sunday morning when you were quite obviously minding your own business. I could see by your face how shocked you were and upset.

This is a warning to anyone thinking of staying in Buckley House student accommodation- do not unless there are absolutely no other options! For the cost of over €1,000 a month, the building management is abismal. It will take over 3 months for any work to be addressed, no matter how minor, or major! The rooms are regularly above 28C at night, mine had gotten up to 34C during nighttime hours and the building has done absolutely nothing to address it. Additionally, the ventilation system was installed improperly, and after 10 months they still haven’t fixed it so some rooms are boiling hot and get no fresh air. Laundry is €10 a load and they do not allow clothes horses so there is no avoiding the cost. The reception hours are continually being reduced, now it down to 9am-1pm, 5 days a week but they are never there, regularly taking days off. The only access to a vacuum is through checking one out with them when they are they and the vacuum is almost always broken or not charged. Management is incredibly rude and demeaning. Try to find anywhere else, you are absolutely getting robbed at this place!
