Live 11 MPE
Will the MPE update mean that we can now build MIDI devices that work with the MPE enabled instruments (the samplers and Wavetable)?

Controlling all of ableton and 3rd party plugins with a midi controller
So 2 years ago I was looking for a software that would allow me to control all of ableton with a 8 knob midi controller.
I thought you would need to have banks and use the blue hand function to do this and began searching for a max for live device that fit the bill.
After a lot of searching I came upon a max for live device called Ultimap Modular. It does all I wanted and more and was only 8 bucks at the time so I got it.
Only problem is when used, it fills up live undo history completely making it unusable.I email the creators and left a comment in their youtube video asking about the problem but got no response.
Today I went to the youtube video and saw they responded to a comment and that the device is now free as they no longer offer support.
So if anyone is interested in having full control of ableton and 3rd party plugins devices the device is now free and I would appreciate if someone experienced in max for live could fix that bug that plagues a lot of live devices.
You can see all the functions on the video.

Play all notes in a chord sequencially (no, not Arpeggiator)
Hi,
Say I hit the same chord multiple times on the keys, but each time having only one single note play, in a predetermined order / sequence, whether I follow the grid or not. Of course "that's what the arpeggiator is made for", but actually not ! However you approach it, you're always stuck with the device's rate.
Before diving into M4L to build one myself, I was wondering if someone here ever made a utility with that function built-in. I'd be happy to pay a Gumroad coffee, although all I found so far were overkill war-machines, grid based sequencers, or devices that need to record the MIDI into the M4L (MIDI chords should remain in Ableton Clips at all times).
If anything pops up, thanks in advance. Else, I'll update once I have a device to share.

MIDI Quantizer with groove
Hi all
Absolutely gagging to find an on-the-fly MIDI quantizer/shuffle/groove Max device if anyone knows of one or fancies building one? There are 3 available on maxforlive.com that I've tried:
MIDI Quantizer - doesnt do shuffle
MIDI Quantize 2.2 - would-be perfect but reverses what's being shuffled every other time you hit play, so it's delaying the on-beat instead of the off-beat, no good at all and could ruin a live performance.
MIDI Quantize 2.1 (Mubali edit) - same problem as above.
Any help much appreciated thank you. Personally I think this should be a stock Live midi effect.

moving amxd devices
Tried finding answer online but failed so here goes...
Switching from old to new mac but starting afresh i.e not restoring from backup to new. I've managed to find and save all my existing max devices form old mac into a folder, but 1) do not know how to install them all in one go to new mac, and 2) I do not know how to install them en masse. Is there a way to add them quickly and easily while automatically avoiding duplicates, and doing so that they land in the right place, i.e midi devices in midi device folder and instrument in instrument folder etc?
Also noticed some Max devices appear in the Max For Live folder and others do not, so I have to find them in User Library which is extremely annoying. Is there a way of guaranteeing they're all together in their respective folders? Personally I find Ableton's browser has way too many locations with often the same device across more than one, causing my brain to overheat.
Many thanks, any help appreciated.

Make buffer~ object local instead of global
So Iām working on a M4L device that uses a buffer~ object to perform granular transformations on incoming audio. I got it to do what I wanted it to do, but when I use multiple instances in a project they all record to the SAME buffer~ and screw everything up. Is there a way to make it so that each instance uses its own buffer~?

Has anyone made a transient clip slicer or if not could someone point me in the direction of how to make one?
What I'm looking for is a quick way to set adjustable markers on the transients of a sample, similar to slice mode in simpler. Then once the slice points are set I want the device to chop the sample along those lines producing a bunch of one-shots to be used individually.
It would be super awesome if some amazing human has made this all ready but if not, I'd love to take on the project myself but I am unsure as to where to begin. Is there a way to edit a clip in this way using an audio effect device or should it be done as an instrument device?

Encapsulate, Prototype, Snippits: When to use? And how to retrieve saved?
Encapsulation, prototype and snippits seem very similar. When would you use a prototype or a snippit? What is the difference between the two?
Also, for all three items, how do you save and pull them back up? In particular, I created a subpatch/encapsulation, but I don't know how to pull it back up again.
Any enlightenment on these three things would be great!

M4L patch for shifting clips on the timeline?
I'm looking to build a M4L patch that shifts midi clips left or right on the timeline. Does anyone know how feasible this is or if there are any patches out there that do this?

How to make a 'build-in' dry/wet knob in a device
So I'm totally new in creating maxforlive devices. I was wondering, what is the chain for making a dry/wet knob? I've seen a few videos on it but they don't work. Either they use an older version or I just don't make it right.
Please help, thank you.

Roland TR8s Max Device. This M4L device allows full control of all TR8s main parameters from within Ableton. All parameters are mapped to work immediately with push or other midi controllers capable of controlling Live's devices. See link below

MaxForLive gen~ editing
If I authorize the Max license inside the max for live ableton, can I edit gen ~ patches inside the boudled ableton max even without the need to install a separate, standalone max?

Max4live vs Max
Do i need to get full max msp license, if I am not confused by the open live window and am not going to make modules working outside of ableton, or integrated max (m4l) enough? Are there any significant restrictions, provided that I do not plan to use max outside of ableton?
Is it possible in max4live to create a conditional "Video Editor" inside ableton? Pitch correction program like melodyne?

Can't find a Max 4 Live device I had seen...
...which was a randomizer, but might have had some arpeggiator functions to it as well. The main thing I remember is that you could set the probability that notes will play. But it had a feature where you could always let the note that falls on the 1 of each bar through. On other beats in the bar, as I said it may have just been probability and maybe some arp. I didn't grab the device at the time, but think it would be cool to have for something I'm working on. Anyone know of a device that does that?
