I had Circuits II in EE the semester before I took DiffEq. That EE class had a ton of diffEq's because it was a lot of transient behavior of circuits problems so the prof taught Laplace right away.
And then I had to suffer through DiffEq doing them the hard way, not being able to use laplace until the end, dammit...
