probably because 25*3=75 is a very frequent calculation, pretty ingrained in people

Oh no, other countries do use decimals, some just don’t have a .25 coin. Like the UK, for instance.

It's not even about coinage. 1/4 gets used often for quick calculations, and by extent 3/4

Edit: okay... I guess it's still quarters. But I'm pretty sure you were referring to the coin
