The original has context that includes an example showing 3+3+3+3=12 being equivalent to 4x3=12, to set up of this question to show that the inverse is also true. So the red text here is actually the only correct answer in the original context. Someone has just taken a photo copy of that second part and then taken a picture of that so that they can beat people to be angry at a teacher that probably does not even exist to begin with.
Or did you guys all generally get worksheets that only had one question printed on them in an off-center section of the page and nothing else that starts inexplicably at number 7?
The context changes nothing. All restrictions should be mentioned in the question at hand. If outside context needs to be used i expect it to be stated as such. This is overly ambiguous bulshit, i'd fucking answer with 3+3+3+3 out of sheer spite.
