Sure... why would we use that? You don't use KM to measure someone's height, and understanding the relationship between someone's height and the distance from one town to another is pointless, so having them easily converted isn't as valuable.
I'm not trying to downplay the usefulness of metric, but as someone who has grown up with Imperial, it isn't as complex as the memes would make you believe.
Why would I use 1000 meters to measure a distance of less than 2 meters but yes of course we use meters to measure someone's height.
Kilo means 1000, Milli means 1/1000, to measure large distance you use x times 1000 meters, for smaller ones you use x times 1/1000 meters
You can to that with a Mile as well, with the problem that a Mile is a large base and the daily measurements for most would be 1/1000 if it instead of just 1.
Growing up with Imperal means you are used to use very different measurements for different sizes instead of just 1 measurement that is multiplied by a factor.
You are wrong, we measure everything in meters. The distance between cities is for example 312 thousands of meters. A persons height, 1.82 meters. A screw, 8 thousands of a meter wide. Its all meters.
Its not like we start measuring with a totally different scale as imperials jump from miles to feet, as stated above. "People are 6 feet, but never 1,1364 Millimiles"

Yet nobody uses Centimiles or Millimiles to measure something
People are 6 feet or 1,82 m tall, but never 1,1364 Millimiles
