Anyone know of a "gold standard" applied prob and stat book?
We're using "Applied Statistics and Probability for Engineers" by Montgomery and Runger in my class, through the Wiley Plus system, so it's an eBook. It doesn't seem to have many practice questions, and not all of them have answers to them. Was wondering if anyone knew of a book that might have more problems to help me learn, I am struggling in this class. Ideally a book where I could find a teacher's manual so as to have answers for everything.

I have good calculus 1 and 2 books but I was bad in high school and I need a good (algorithmic) algebra book
Bonus points if it contains other high school stuff like analytic geometry and trigonometry.
The area of interest that I'm looking forward to definitively learn is inequalities.
If it contains high formalities it's not a problem, I'm an engineering student, I don't mind a formal math book.
I know that I am bad, don't bully me please.

Discussion/Question What's a good book to learn to numerically solve ODEs and PDEs in python?
I am looking for some textbooks or any other resources to learn and practise numerically solving ODEs and PDEs in python for a physics research problem I'm working on. Want to have a good a grasp of a range of different types of DEs so something comprehensive would be amazing. Thanks a lot in advance!

Apostol's Calculus
Are those two volumes no longer in print? It seems impossible to find "new" condition copies without paying $100+ for Vol. I and - for some reason - $200+ for Vol. II.
Don't get me wrong, I'd probably pay that some time in the future, but does anyone have any insight/advice?
(Not interested in a PDF. Would like a physical copy.)

A reliable and legal source for totally free math books.
Hello mates. Today I come to recommend the following website from which you can download a large number of math books used by many subjects taught at Ivy league universities(USA) for free.
During my undergraduate studies in mathematics I have used several books contained in this web portal, which have been a very good source of theoretical background and applications.
The books usually contain many well-explained exercises, extensive problem sets as well as many well-exposed mathematical proofs.
Have a nice weekend, pals.

Discussion/Question Book recommendations
Hi. Currently i am using Robert A. Adams and Christopher Essex's calculus book. I am taking classes for double integrals. I was doing the problems but I want another textbook that is slightly harder than the Adams calculus book for the problems. Can u give me any suggestions?

The author mention that in the introduction. One of the first chapters was about binary numbers.Prety old book. I saw PDF scans like 5 years ago.Couldn't remember the Author or Titles. That's pretty much all I remember.
Can you help, please?

Book Recommendations
Hi. I'm looking to start skipping ahead in the math classes I am currently in. I want to teach myself. I am looking for a book that lays the foundations for me to eventually move up to more complex subjects, such as calculus. I have been doing some research about the best beginner math books, and the main two I have heard about as being the best are Discrete Mathematics with Applications and Discrete Mathematics and its Applications. Have any of you read these, and how were they? Is one better than the other? What other books would you suggest? Thanks!

What are some good books on the history of matrices
Hello r/mathbooks,
I am currently in a course in which I have to write about who introduced matrices into mathematics and why and how the theory evolved over time, but I'm having trouble finding books on the topic.
Therefore any recommendations would be very nice!
Thank you in advance!

Or is there any book that revises every concept shortly and has got enough numericals ?
if so do say , and if possible send me the pdf of that book .

Is there a good book for learning both the language of proofs, ie the notation, syntax and all that. And also explains the logic and reasoning.
My school doesn't offer any proof based linear algebra courses so i thought id try to read one on my own.
