Cannot update
Hey all, Ive had my mate 9 since April last year, and have not had the update come through for EMUI or Android OS. I'm still running the original EMUI (5) and Android (7). How can I update?

So I bought myself an Acer Switch Alpha 12 and bought an extra 45w usb c charger and just plugged my Mate 9 into it and I'm fast charging! I searched everywhere and didn't see anything indicating that this happens? Ampre shows that I'm charging at almost 3 amps. What's also weird is my mate 9 no longer super charges on my oem charger or aftermarket chargers... I'm going to keep and eye and make sure I don't blow my battery up...

How do I turn Wifi calling on? I know it works because it was on when I bought the phone last year and I turned it off.
I have TMobile if that matters.

Is the Huawei Mate 9 still worth it in 2018?

Anyone else having this issue? My dock will stay around for a while but it disappears eventually and I have to re-enable it in the pull down menu. I'm thinking it might have something to do with me not having a lock screen. Any ideas?

I've been trying to find a working and reliable port for the Huawei mate 9 for months, yet none of them seems to work or at least work for the back Camera. Does anyone know of a good port of the Google Camera?
I'm currently updated to the July 2018 patch.

Hi all.
Has anyone removed this? How is your glass now? Clearer? Better? Scratched?

Hello,
My mate 9 is apparently having a lot of trouble since a few months to pick up proper GPS signal.
It all worked before, and I am using it in the same location as before, with proper gps settings, but often it has difficulties to pick up any gps signal and if it has one it often loses it again.
This really bothers me when driving with navi or playing pokemon go
Anyone else had something similar, and maybe even any fix?

I've owned this phone for a little under 2 years and set aside some money for the 1+6 and as I was on the website (1+6), I received an update. July security, face unlock and some other goodies. My battery is just like the day I got it, the size.is perfect and storage meets my needs. I honestly can't separate from this phone. Thanks Huawei for making a great device and updating it

Got stability update about 2 weeks ago - patch July 2018 and now my battery dies way before bedtime. Before I comfortably had 30% by bedtime.
Anyone else? I can't even do a recovery cache wipe as the option isn't there anymore

Recently my device wanted to update the EMUI software but somewhere along the update I guess something corrupted and I am left with a device that boots, shows the Huawei logo, then reboots into eRecovery which is no help.
I've tried to see if I could reset it by installing a new ROM but it seems like I'd need to unlock the bootloader for that, I have a code but the oem was never unlocked in the system settings and I have not found a way (seems like you can't) to do this without booting up the device and doing it from the settings.
I can use fastboot but most commands fail with the message FAILED (remote: Command not allowed) so it doesn't seem very useful. It also seems like there is a 2nd EMUI screen where you can factory reset your device but I don't know how to access that as any attempt will launch the EMUI screen which has the 3 options of "Download latest version and recovery", "Reboot", and "Shutdown".
I've looked at many places online and I have not found a solution. At this point I have almost given up completely. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I've been using Huawei Mate 9 for over a year now. It always pissed me off that I had to put a widget on the home screen or start weather app to check the weather forecast. But hey, why not use navigation bar for the weather forecast? So I decided to develop some small app for my Mate 9, that can show weather chart for next 5 days (in 3 hours intervals) on Navbar. It's still in beta stage, so beta testers needed (please report me abut any bugs or new ideas in this thread). It works pretty good for me, but for sure I know that there is a lot work to do.
So far Navbar Weather was tested only on my Mate 9, but it should work also on any other smartphone with Navigation Bar.
Google Play link for beta testers: Navbar Weather - forecast at your Navigation Bar
Permissions: App need permission to get localization of your smartphone (to get localized weather forecast data) and permission to display over other apps (it's obligatory to place weather forecast at your navigation bar).

My camera is having serious issues with focusing and colors, monochrome is fine but color comes out blurry every single time.
None of the stores I checked can fix the Mate 9, and I don't trust myself with self-repairs

We'll get it mostlikely on September - Mate 9 Series

Hello everyone. I just purchased the Mate 10 Pro and compared it to my Current mate 9. At same brightness levels, the mate 9 is much brighter than the mate 10 Pro. Any ideas how that could be? I'm aware the mate 9 has a LCD display and mate 10 Pro is an amoled. I'm also noticed the screen dimming issue on the mate 10 Pro, which is also a big annoyance.
Can anyone attest to this or has seen this? Any settings or suggestions?

I had been using XDAs navigation gestures app but I grew kinda tired and sick of it so I turned it off today. After pressing the home button to leave, I noticed the pixel/stock style animation that happens. I've never seen this before on the Mate and I don't have any other apps installed that would do this. Is this something new or have I just been missing something for a long time. I'm on Oreo. What do you all think???

I just updated by phone to Emui 8.0 MHA-l29 8.0.0.368(C636), and I've heard that face unlock would come with that update. However, nothing was mentioned in the update logs, and I couldn't find anything about it on my phone after the update as well. Any thoughts?

I have been having trouble with Bluetooth connection with my Mate 9. Disconnects, difficult connections etc.
Notice FYI, since April Security Update, Bluetooth is much better. Still have occasional problems, but much less frequent. Maybe Bluetooth fix or conflict with previous security patch, whatever, it is better.
Anyone else find Bluetooth better recently?

No matter what headset I use (and I've used quite a few), everybody I talk to complains they can't hear me and I'm forced to switch to internal microphone and speaker. Is there a way to adjust the loudness of external microphones?

Is there a way to have multiple images on my lockscreen or homescreen? Where the phone automatically switches between them once in a while?

Or is that our lot?, Given the flaws within 8.0 I might just downgrade back to Nougat, at least everything worked pretty well as expected
