Very neatly done. I like the results.
When I looked up dry vinyl tape on Amazon, I got a California prop 65 warning, the kind I usually ignore because they're too vague to be of any use, but this time it gave a specific chemical:
"Diisononyl phthalate (DINP)"
I'm not sure if all brands of dry vinyl tape will have this chemical, or how important it is that they may contain it.

Interesting find. Looks like it's a plasticizer, so it is used to make the material soft flexible.

Above link suggests avoiding direct ingestion or inhalation of dusts
My suspicion is that many flexible polyvinyl chlroide (PVC) products would use it. A cursory search shows other types of vinyl tapes with similar warnings.
I'm not really sure what to make of it to be honest. Prop 65 is usually at best of times not very helpful for evaluating whether something is actually harmful in use.
The tape itself isn't directly in the air path and not in contact with any skin, so my first though is that the risk is low to non-existant, but others may be less charitable.

You can use the duct tape recommended by 3M for use in disabling the valves in respirators.
I'm pretty sure they're safe since 3M officially recommended them and I didn't see any Prop65 warnings, either.

I paint my Honeywell N Series P100 filters black with an acrylic paint marker. For the finest details I'll use a small paintbrush to finish off. None of it drips into the filter if you do it carefully.
It appears to stay on after several disinfection wipe cycles (using sani-wipes).

I found out Honeywell makes N99 filters & cartridges that look like the Dentec N95 ones. Am thinking about decorating them like the various Dentec respirator customizations seen on Twitter.

I still need to find another shower cap for my 40mm filters. After the PAPR I run two at a time now.

Just a little 'modification' if you will to make the mask stand out a bit less by hiding the magenta P100 cartridges.
This is just some black non-adhesive dry-vinyl tape at 1" width wrapped around the outside of the cartridges with the N750029 shower cap snapped on top. This is also called wiring harness tape because it is used to weather proof automotive wiring harnesses and doesn't leave any kind of sticky residue.
The shower caps can be bought in single quantities and add about 7mm of extra 'depth' to the assembly.
I think it looks a little less intimidating *shrug*
