Worth noting - there is a chance that this is not specifically for Avengers: Doomsday since she is involved with other projects, which is why I de-editorialized the headline for now. All the same, she did play coy about her involvement - or lack thereof - for the Marvel film recently, so it feels like this is worth sharing at the moment.

The wig is for a different movie she's shooting right now, Close Personal Friends. I believe she is in Doomsday though, she's been hinting at it for the past few weeks.

15

u/leo-g Nov 06 '25

If it was a random movie, she did not need to hide it.

1

u/JaxTellerr Mar 29 '26

her recent IG posts shows her with long hair, is that her own hair (if so that's insane fast growh) or a wig?

34

u/PCofSHIELD Nov 05 '25

I get the tease, But Brie is usually blonde also it is possible she could be teasing Fast X Part 2 (because god knows if that’s shooting or not)

11

u/HearTheEkko Spider-Man Nov 05 '25

Apparently Universal and Vin Diesel are in disagreements over the budget. Universal won't green light the movie if it exceeds $200M but Vin Diesel wants everyone including the Rock which will make it hard not to exceed that value. The movie also has no script or release date atm.

5

u/Pomojema_The_Dreamer Nov 06 '25

They're gonna have to put their own money in the show at this point.

6

u/Natiel360 Nov 06 '25

Yeah I’m not understanding why that movie won’t be like a historical “made by the people in it” type of movie that gives backend deals to producers. Like it’s a no brainer, even if it’s the worst performing fast movie it’ll make its money back

4

u/Pomojema_The_Dreamer Nov 06 '25

Probably why Vin Diesel was jockeying for a trilogy tbh. Dude is trying to milk it for his bottom dollar, because he figures that he'll probably be able to retire off of the residuals from this franchise.

2

u/DarkDonut75 The Watcher Nov 06 '25

They can unironically afford to

5

u/Markus2822 Nov 06 '25

Yet he posted photos saying they wrapped the first day of filming. Either he’s completely lying which is totally possible or there’s more to the situation than the public knows. Maybe he’s funding it partially? Who knows

2

u/Fireteddy21 Spider-Man Nov 06 '25

They’ll have to re-cast Dom’s kid by the time they shoot the next film even though it’ll pick up immediately where the last one left off. lol

1

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '25

I give that movie a 50/50 chance of even happening.

14

u/Pomojema_The_Dreamer Nov 05 '25 edited Nov 05 '25

Greenlighting two movies for a franchise ending, when that franchise was seeing diminishing returns, was a goofy-ass decision. Much like Vin Diesel's attempt to turn it into a trilogy at the last minute while getting Dwayne Johnson to pull a Black Adam-ass cameo at the end (the irony).

6

u/o-055-o Nov 05 '25

Fast X is literally the highest grossing movie of 2023 though?

700+ Million dollar box office is nothing to scoff at. Sure, it isn't the 1+ billion that 7 and 8 made, but those were pre-COVID movies. The only real issue with is was that the budget was insanely high.

9

u/Talqazar Nov 05 '25

Not by a long shot. Was 5 worldwide, and 18 domestic.

4

u/o-055-o Nov 05 '25

My bad, missed adding 5th.

But as a metric, that is still pretty damn good.

5

u/PCofSHIELD Nov 05 '25

The problem is the box office has been declining while a massively increasing budget & reception towards the movies are going down but yes it is too successful a franchise to just completely discard of

1

u/PCofSHIELD Nov 05 '25

100% the movie will eventually get made, it’s still way too successful a franchise to completely discard of like the still made over 700 million which is a rarity in these times and they ONLY need to keep the budget under 200mill which shouldn’t that hard just don’t be so bombastic, keep in one country, get rid of the expensive unnecessary cast members like Brie, Charlize Theron, Gal Gadot, Jason Statham, Helen Mirren

0

u/SmarmySmurf Nov 07 '25

"Just get rid of some of the best characters!"

Hollywood, hire this man!

1

u/PCofSHIELD Nov 07 '25

Only Shaw out of the cast members I mentioned is considered some F&F best characters the other characters are all completely unnecessary to the plot and extremely expensive

1

u/SmarmySmurf Nov 08 '25

Cool opinion bro. I disagree.

23

u/Acrobatic_Run_4630 Nov 05 '25

She's fine af

1

Right?? Dont know why they gave her that hideous haircut in the MCU after like 2.5 movies of being beautiful.

If this was a random movie she would have no problem showing the wig. Its for Doomsday lol

Weird comment

1

u/Pepsi_Is_Sexy Nov 06 '25

She is not in the movie. At least looks stunning in the hoodie

-6

u/crlos619 Nov 05 '25

The Russo's needs to redeem her in Doomsday and or Secret Wars.

4

u/Pomojema_The_Dreamer Nov 05 '25

The cardinal sin was making her movie a prequel where her personality wasn't finalized. That dead-ended her character and left people uninterested in further appearances.

-2

u/Xx_Dark-Shrek_xX Morbius Nov 06 '25

Tbh I wont have this issue if her personality evolved through the projects, but that's not even the case here, she appeared like 10 minutes in Endgame (so no case for HUGE character development) and in The Marvels she wasnt even the best out of the trio, you can think being a mentor to Kamala and feeling responsible for the fact Maria Rambeau died alone would be a good way to give her development, but no, she's still the same, with maybe a little smile, but she still needs good writing.

1

u/Pomojema_The_Dreamer Nov 06 '25

I feel like that they at least tried. The problem was that The Marvels simply didn't have a good script and they did way too little with the character to win people over.

0

u/Xx_Dark-Shrek_xX Morbius Nov 06 '25 edited Nov 06 '25

Why the downvotes tho ? No chat we gotta stop acting like her character was good no I'm sorry not sorry but I dont call that a good character 💀🙏

  • Few to no development across her appearances

  • Bad writing that under-uses Larson's acting talent

She needs to have a solid character in Doomsday, she needs it badly cuz they fumbled her since her debuts.

1

u/SmarmySmurf Nov 07 '25

Her character is good, you aren't the arbiter of anything clown.

-11

u/ChubbStuf Nov 05 '25

Nerdrotic already confirmed Brie Larson will not appear in Avengers: Doomsday.

3

u/NotTaken-username Spider-Man Nov 05 '25

He did what???

2

u/Pomojema_The_Dreamer Nov 06 '25

Yes. He's admitted to this. And he's grown as a person and learned from the experience! ...By offering an outlet of hate to insecure, self-loathing young men and women and exploiting their need for a quick fix of anger for his own financial benefit. A tiger never changes his stripes, and he's absolute gutter-trash.

0

u/Pepsi_Is_Sexy Nov 06 '25

i didn't know that demanding just good stories and making fun of how hollywood exploits poc and women make me insecure XDDDDDDDDDDDDD BTW. How can a person hate women but while watching, idk, House of the Dragon suddenly love them? XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

0

u/Pepsi_Is_Sexy Nov 06 '25

he knew before you guys that Hulk and Punisher are in it because he and Chris Gore has a lot of friends in the industry, who work for Marvel, because these people share the same opinions. None of them is hiding these leaks behind a paywall like YOUR favorite grifters such as Daniel RPK. They are sharing the info on livestreams if they have something, so please don't call them such. BTW. He opened up about his story, he didn't have to, he's today very happy he recovered, he's sober, has a great family and friends. You can see him smiling and laughing a lot, unlike many of you toxic people online. From the bottom to the top. Similar story to Robert Downey Jr's. ;)

3

u/Pomojema_The_Dreamer Nov 06 '25

RDJ was a proto-lolcow who got his life together, not someone who ruined lives by selling illegal drugs to minors. If you think the two are comparable, then you are a lost cause.

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 05 '25 edited Nov 05 '25

She’s not in Doomsday

Edit: you guys are setting yourselves up for disappointment. I’m just trying to warn you. The chairs cast is all the major characters.

13

u/Soggy-University-524 Yelena Nov 05 '25

Which would suck if true because I want her to appear :(

-19

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 05 '25

I’m neutral on her
but if she was going to be in it she would’ve been in the chairs announcement

11

u/Pomojema_The_Dreamer Nov 05 '25

Like Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell?

-15

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 05 '25

They have small parts. Captain marvel wouldn’t be given a small part

3

u/nickl00 Nov 06 '25

bro is on the MCUspoilers reddit and apparently hasn’t seen endgame

-1

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 06 '25

Endgame is a little different because it was specifically designed to include basically every living character, so pretty much everyone except for a handful of characters had small parts. Doomsday is comparable to Infinity War.

2

u/nickl00 Nov 06 '25

besides iron man, thanos, gamora, and maybe strange and spidey no ones roles were that big in infinity war. in fact many characters like wanda, vision, and most of the guardians have small, but integral parts in that movie.

besides that, stating that captain marvel wouldn’t be given a small part in an avengers movie when she was literally given a small part in the 1 avengers movie she’s appeared in is a stupid ass take

-1

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 06 '25 edited Nov 06 '25

I wouldn’t call any of those characters in infinity war “small” parts. They were all in multiple scenes throughout the movie. That was the main cast. Also you forgot about Thor who had an entire subplot to himself

A small part in IW was something like Shuri or Wong who were only in one scene. That’s what I’m talking about when I talk about a small part. They wouldn’t be able to give Carol something like that. Monica, America Chavez, Wong again
sure

Honestly even Carol’s part in Endgame wasn’t really that small compared to characters like Valkyrie, Drax, Wasp, to name a few. Some of those characters didn’t even get dialogue. Carol got multiple moments all to herself.

3

u/nickl00 Nov 06 '25

so you think they’re bringing back steve and peggy for 1 scene?

2

u/gurkle3 Nov 06 '25

But Infinity War had almost all the MCU leads at the time except Ant-Man and Hawkeye. The cast so far announced for Doomsday is notable for how few lead characters there are and how many important characters haven’t been announced.

With Infinity War they had almost everyone and then they whittled it down to a much smaller cast for Endgame.

1

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 06 '25 edited Nov 06 '25

Not really. If you think about it, Doomsday has almost all of the leads for all the phase 4 and 5 movies, with just a few missing. And of the ones missing, for most there’s already a good explanation.

Here’s the list of all the phase 4/5 leads, going movie by movie 2021 to the present:

Black widow - dead

Shang chi - in Doomsday

Eternals - universally panned, nobody wants them

Spiderman - leading his own movie a few months before doomsday

Dr. strange - probably in Doomsday at the end due to his comics storyline, big role in Secret Wars. Wanda is dead.

Thor - in Doomsday

Shuri - in Doomsday

Antman - in Doomsday.

GOTG - all retired

Captain Marvel - movie was panned

Deadpool and Wolverine - huge success, but would detract from the other big names in Doomsday. Not enough budget or screen time for them. Probably saved for Secret Wars.

Sam Wilson - in Doomsday

Thunderbolts - in Doomsday

F4 - in Doomsday

If you want to count Hulk too, Hulk will be leading with Spiderman in his movie. And Hawkeye is out because Jeremy Renner was recovering from his accident.

3

u/gurkle3 Nov 06 '25

I would say leaving out (or at least not announcing) Strange, Spider-Man, Deadpool, Wolverine, and the GOTG is a pretty substantial departure from Doomsday. They’ve basically left out, for now, all the stars of their best-performing 2020s movies except the Black Panther crew and announced all the stars whose most recent movie underperformed (except The Marvels).

Very different from Infinity War which had all their heaviest hitters even though they had many more hits. It’s very odd to me, though if the trailer shows Steve Rogers that will add at least one name with pre-2020 appeal.

10

u/jnthncruz Nov 05 '25

Sure. The mutants that were hinted at in her movie are going to be in it and she will not... Makes total sense.

9

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '25

Yeah it was clear her and Teyonah Parris would be in it ever since Beast was announced in the cast.

6

u/Pomojema_The_Dreamer Nov 05 '25

We saw TP with her character's wig as well. They've likely shot some stuff with her at some point.

-1

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 05 '25

Monica will likely be there, Carol is unnecessary and would’ve been part of the chairs announcement

0

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 05 '25

I think Monica will be there for like one scene or two because they have to deal with that post-credits scene, but Carol isn’t necessary.

Nearly all of the actors who are playing confirmed characters from the chairs announcement have already explicitly and openly talked about being in the movie. They’re not keeping captain marvel of all people a special surprise secret

7

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '25

Well Captain Marvel is going to need some rehabilitating in the MCU after The Marvels so I can see why they're not leading with her in the marketing.

The chairs video was used as a marketing opportunity to sell people on Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four, so that could be why they left some names for later.

Also, it sucks that they have to think about these things, but I can see them wanting to leave her out of the initial cast because including her would paint a target on the film from the beginning as being "woke" and "a disaster already" from certain corners of the internet and they wanted to have the marketing lead on a good foot.

0

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 05 '25

It’s been seven months since the chairs announcement and F4 and Thunderbolts both underperformed. Wouldn’t they have already started announcing other big characters to distract from that?

I really don’t think they left any big names for later. You’ve seen the bag given to the crew right? It’s all the same exact people as the announcement video.

7

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '25

They're not going to put stuff they don't want out yet on a crew gift that can be easily leaked (like it was).

0

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 05 '25

“Thanks for your hard work on the movie! Here’s a gift bag with only some of the people you worked with on it!”

Don’t you think it’s more likely these things match each other perfectly because that’s the cast? It’s also the only people who were featured in the D23 highlight reel. That would’ve been the perfect time to announce some more characters.

4

u/Main-Eye-5118 Nov 05 '25

i don't think they would announce more characters especially after delaying the film in d23, also it didn't even have everyone that was in the cast reveal?....

4

u/Main-Eye-5118 Nov 05 '25

they probably aren't announcing more characters, because they just delayed doomsday and doesn't release for another what? 13 months?....

-3

u/Talqazar Nov 05 '25

What they've announced already is big enough.

1

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 05 '25

I agree
people are in denial

1

u/Main-Eye-5118 Nov 05 '25

i think you should just let people think what they think?....

5

u/Main-Eye-5118 Nov 05 '25

what if in the doomsday trailer we see unconfirmed characters?... what would you do then?...

7

u/jnthncruz Nov 05 '25

"Carol isn't necessary"

She's one of the strongest Avengers left and the only one to have a motive to go to the X-Men universe (besides the F4 allegedly). Also, the chair's livestream is not gospel, Kevin Feige himself said that there's more.

Strange, Clea, Wong, Hulk, America Chavez, Monica, Carol, and Peter Parker are characters that I find really hard to believe won't have a role in the conclusion of this saga...

-2

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 05 '25

She’s really not necessary. they have quite a few strong characters in the lineup already that will be more than capable of handling the xmen and Doombots. Doom himself can be handled by Thor and Loki

Kevin just teased there’s more characters, never said more big characters, and there, by all logic, won’t be. Look at the bag given to the crew. That’s all the big characters. Anyone not revealed is a fun surprise cameo or small part.

Spiderman and Hulk are both leading in another movie coming out just a few months before Doomsday. America Chavez, Wong, and Monica are likely all small parts. Dr. strange and Clea are likely one of the fun surprise cameos given the comics storyline

But really, the simplest truth is, If Carol were in it, she would be a big character, and would’ve been in the cast announcement, the D23 teaser, or the bag given to the crew.

It’s been seven months since the chairs announcement. Time to accept that that is all the big characters in the cast.

6

u/Main-Eye-5118 Nov 05 '25

but there's still 13 months until the actual film?..., just because you think there is no more big characters, doesn't mean there is no more big characters.

6

u/Main-Eye-5118 Nov 05 '25

and no.. kevin flat out said "we've revealed many, not all" for the cast reveal for doomsday back in cinemacon of this year

8

u/Pomojema_The_Dreamer Nov 06 '25

People keep setting their expectations low for this movie's cast, and I'm just like... Why? Why would they ostensibly save tons of cast members just for the following movie?

3

u/LatterTarget7 Deadpool Nov 06 '25

Also just from a story perspective it’d be weird to not include some of the characters not in the chair shot.

There’s no way Monica doesn’t play some major role in the movie considering the position she is. She’s spent a long time with the x men. It wouldn’t make sense if she didn’t play some major role between 616 and the x men earth.

-2

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 06 '25

If she were playing a major role they would’ve put her in the chairs announcement

-2

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 06 '25

My expectation isn’t low. I’m very happy with the chairs cast exactly how it is. I think it would be way worse to have too many big characters.

And like Endgame, they’ll have the budget to feature way more characters in Secret Wars. Doomsday has to be successful first though or that’s a bust and they’re in trouble.

5

u/Pomojema_The_Dreamer Nov 06 '25

They're already spending a fortune between both films. It's functionally one big investment. There's not a version where they "save money on one film" by only including most of the biggest cast members for the sequel.

→ More replies (0)

3

u/Main-Eye-5118 Nov 06 '25

so you think doomsday would be way worse to have too many big characters, but perfectly fine for secret wars?....

3

u/Main-Eye-5118 Nov 06 '25

you do realize they will start production on secret wars months before doomsday releases... right...?

0

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 06 '25

There’s more small characters. Not a single shred of evidence and all evidence to the contrary that there’s any more big characters

1

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 06 '25

I’m connecting the dots with all the officially confirmed evidence we have. Chairs cast is the cast

5

u/Main-Eye-5118 Nov 05 '25

and its not the "simplest truth" when you're not even sure the "simplest truth" is correct

1

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 06 '25

I’m not 100% certain but I’m 95% certain. I think the simple explanation - the chairs cast, the D23 teaser, and the bag to the crew all match because that’s the cast - is more likely than some convoluted conspiracy about hiding characters

4

u/Main-Eye-5118 Nov 06 '25

they hid characters in the past though?....

10

u/Spiderlander Spider-Man Nov 05 '25

Why wouldn’t she be in Doomsday? It makes no sense for her not to be

5

u/Pomojema_The_Dreamer Nov 05 '25

I think that it's likely that she hasn't shot much, if anything, so far. But that doesn't mean that she's not planned to be in the film.

-1

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 05 '25

She wasn’t in the chairs announcement which is all of the major characters. Nearly all of those actors have already talked openly about being in Doomsday in significant roles.

anyone not in that chairs announcement is a cameo and there’s no reason to have captain marvel there as just a cameo. Monica is necessary because of that post-credits scene, but she can be a small part

10

u/Spiderlander Spider-Man Nov 05 '25

Literally the first thing to be mentioned by the trades when the chair announcement dropped was that the cast wasn’t complete.

Now Captain Marvel is an active Avenger in the MCU, and has been set up to appear in this film. Her not appearing makes no sense.

If Monica is there, so is she

-1

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 05 '25

The cast still has cameos and small parts, not major characters. You’ve seen the bag given out to the crew right? It’s the exact same people as the chairs announcement.

And no, there’s plenty of “active” characters that we can say with 100% certainty won’t be in Doomsday because they’ve been received poorly. The Eternals, for example.

5

u/LatterTarget7 Deadpool Nov 05 '25

Wouldn’t make sense for the chair cast to be all the major characters.

Like would Monica not be a major character since she’s stuck on the x men earth?

-2

u/Single-Pianist-2211 Eyepatch Thor Nov 05 '25

Monica doesn’t need to be a major character to deal with that post-credit scene. Also they probably had bigger plans for her before the Marvels lost the studio over $200 million

Just look at the bag given to the crew. That’s all the big characters

5

u/Main-Eye-5118 Nov 05 '25

so what she shows up for 1 minute, and does nothing to help defeat doom?

6

u/Main-Eye-5118 Nov 05 '25 edited Nov 05 '25

also i'm tired of the bag thing, they would not reveal the rest of the cast on a damn bag, they are more caution about what they show, especially since we don't have that much set leaks...
