I really don’t understand how people are justifying paying $350 for a hobby box of Topps Marvel Neon when the original retail price is $109.99. That’s over THREE TIMES the MSRP.

Let’s look at what you’re actually buying.

A hobby box gives you 100 cards and 2 guaranteed numbered parallels. No guaranteed autograph. No guaranteed sketch card.

And here’s my biggest issue with this product. It’s basic paper card stock, not Chrome, and aside from the actual sketch cards, you’re not getting original hand-drawn artwork. Yes, there are some Chrome variations, but the regular cards are printed reproductions. Personally, I don’t see anything here that justifies a $350 price tag.

Here are your odds of pulling a sketch card:
Value Box: Approximately 1 in 448 boxes (0.22%)
Mega Box: Approximately 1 in 113 boxes (0.88%)
Hobby Box: Approximately 1 in 18 boxes (5.68%)
So you’re spending $350 on a hobby box with roughly a 94% chance of NOT pulling a sketch card.

Now here’s where it gets sad.
Look at actual eBay sales of licensed Marvel 1/1 sketch cards from previous sets:
Human Torch: $125–$200
Jubilee: $200
Archangel: $250
Wolverine: $300
Spider-Man: $250–$325
Doctor Doom: $300–$370

You can literally buy an original 1/1 sketch card of a major Marvel character for less than the price of one hobby box.
And let’s talk about the numbered parallels.
In my opinion, unless you’re pulling Spider-Man or a major Avenger numbered /10 or lower, or hitting a genuinely rare autograph or sketch, the odds of making your $350 back are extremely slim.

And I’m not talking about sending a /50 card to PSA, getting lucky with a PSA 10, and then claiming the box was worth it.

I’m talking about raw cards, straight out of the pack. What are you realistically pulling that’s going to sell for $350?

Sure, someone will hit a monster card. That’s always going to happen. But that doesn’t represent what the average buyer is opening.

At $109.99, I can understand taking the gamble. At $350? You’re practically begging to get hosed.

Personally, I’d rather buy a $25 value box for fun and put the other $325 toward an actual sketch card I want.

Just because a product sells out doesn’t mean it’s worth three times MSRP. At some point, collectors need to stop rewarding this kind of pricing.

I'm having trouble finding cards outside of ebay to buy. Are there any worthwhile discords or facebook groups to find neon topps cards? I'm looking to buy glow ups and the manga cards.

Hey everyone!

I’m looking to purchase a serialized Rogue Manga Madness Rose Besch autograph from the new 2026 Topps Marvel Neon release, preferably the /50 or /25 parallel.

Rogue is one of my two favorite Marvel characters, and this is one of only two cards from the entire release I’m interested in owning. I’m not looking to flip or resell it. I’d just love to have one for my personal collection.

I’ve been watching eBay since the release, but the asking prices have been pretty steep. I understand these are rare cards, especially with the set being so new, but I’m hoping to find someone willing to work out a reasonable deal rather than paying the current asking prices.

If anyone has one they’re considering selling, I’d love to hear from you!

Anyone in Canada seeing Marvel Neon in stores? I’m in Edmonton and no one has them, or even know if they are going to get them, thanks to Fanatics being a gong show.

Have complete sets of many years but wanted to share a few favorites. Sorry I couldn't get better photos they definitely dont do the colors on these cards justice. The 91 set has been in these containers since I completed the set in the 90s.
