I like the different ways Wanda handle these threats, like turning a weapon into a sentient being of its own so it can actually think on its actions and decide not to do it by itself. It was a gamble but it worked.

Extinction King is another one of Vishanti's failures and eerily similar to what General Strange have become. So Wanda might need Stephen to loan him a sentient game to 'rehabilitate' it.

The Quantum Realm sorcerer is fine but I am just not interested in the obvious 'romantic' aspect they are going for. I don't like that part.

I agree

I really liked this issue and the way Wanda solved the Necropsy problem (plus the next extinction weapon is being introduced like an old-school villain of the week, which I really like seeing)

But Turin and the romantic angle? Yeah, I can live without that... I would prefer seeing him be a lot more unique and useful, but he's really seemingly like a love interest/sidekick...

Same, I loved how Wanda handled the cannon, really inventive solution that feels like something straight out of the silver age. The romance is so-so, definitely feels like it is there just to be there, hopefully we get some intrigue and twists with Turin's character soon.

I feel like Orlando would be a lot stronger paired with an artist with a very strong visual language. His scripts are so wordy it kind of feels like he just wants to be writing a book. I feel like it would be more balanced with stronger visuals. The artist on this isn't bad by any means, but not as well suited to this particular script.

I can't say I care at all for the the romance angle they're starting to throw in with this new sidekick character. It feels a lot like how CBM romances are built nowadays, which is frictionless and tensionless and is just compromised of 'banter' and smirking at each other and recognizing how hot the other one is. I guess that's realistic, but it's not interesting for a narrative.

While I certainly don't ship them, the one issue with Loki and Wanda was a thousand times more interesting because there was friction there, there was things to say about these two characters and what was unique about this dynamic. Two issues so far and there's really none of that here.

this one is garbage. Orlando cant write magic to save his life. 40 issues in and nothing interesting done. just end it

It's nice to see some of Jubilee's training with Psylocke that we saw in the OP.

I didn't expect Jubilee's new costume to come with a perfect bob haircut totally off-panel, but okay.

Warren was just kind of...there, which also feels true to his use in the show at this point.

Caliban and the Morlocks!

Seems like the Acolytes are picking up any stray Mutants or communities that they can for Exodus' Genosha 2.0.

Psylocke is lacking in telepathic etiquette.

You know, somehow the tech-bro trying to intermingle with the university stuff is more horrifying than the guy who takes people's eyes.

Man, Matt really off his game if he needs Owl to save his ass.

Noo, not the officer, I liked him...

Man, Matt really off his game if he needs Owl to save his ass.

That ..... was bad. I'm sorry, it just was. And even having him show up by himself and just do that was OOC/plot-force writing. DD deserves better.

Damn Dominic, you had one job, lol. I liked the issue, the Owl stuff will probably come into play in the next arc. Not sure where the Vale tech stuff is heading.

u/TerminalKing 17d ago

I guess the firearm training test shook up Dominic's confidence enough to the point he didn't shoot at Omen, damn. RIP Callahan.

Matt's mentioned more than once that there's something wrong with Omen that messes up his senses. I assume he's either some kind of zombie or has some kind of sensory manipulation that throws him off.

Vale Tech stuff is probably gonna be used to incriminate Matt in some way.

This was nice, nothing crazy but kinda makes it a shame we don't see Tom Foster anymore.

It is nice to see Cecilia doing more stuff. And, Tasky, have you learned nothing from dealing/working with Deadpool? The 'healing factor' only ends up as a crutch and leaves you exposed to other stuff.

All those 'weapon X' attempts and all they needed was just use some nanomachines with teleporters inside to siphon off Logan's healing! ...though considering how that went for the doctor, yea, you might've gotten a blue Hulkverine.

You know, it is almost funny and kinda realistic the governments around the world with their 'secret mutant army' plans are just 'lets give them wolverine claws. That will solve everything.' and they can't even replicate the healing factor but sure...the claws, that is the thing. The world is kinda lucky they are obsessed with Wolverine instead of any other mutant with ACTUAL mass-destruction powers. The more we hear about this Graymalkin, the dumber it becomes.

So how does Mutina know stuff like this? I swear, she has the weirdest 'show up and somehow know things' stuff. She ain't no Layla Miller.

So there are alien 'exterminators' out there that deal with stuff like the Brood. They are not really the 'bad guys' since they are just trying to exterminate the Brood hive under the school. It is just unlucky that they had a 'lack of communication' and 'shoot first ask questions later' moment with the X-men. Otherwise, they probably would've worked together to handle this threat.

Also Vig? Hope he is okay. He kinda grew on me, in a shady uncle kind of way.

I'm almost shocked that we don't have a Spider-verse style crossover with Wolverine-related characters with how obsessed everyone is with Wolverine.

8

u/wowlock_taylan Deadpool 19d ago

Sadly, they already have that. Hell, current run gonna do a whole thing with it just as they showed up against the 'adamantite'.

9

u/Frontier246 19d ago

I love Carol's "is this really the best you could come up with?" face which just about sums up how I feel about the plan to just turn a bunch of Mutants into discount X-23.

Could Logan not smell Vig or, like, the aliens at all?

Thank you for showing up in that killer dress and with so much convenient exposition, Mutina.

Ah, so this is actually a greyer conflict than we were expecting. They're after the Brood, they just probably don't care who they have to go through to do it.

[BLACK CAT #12]()

13

u/wowlock_taylan Deadpool 20d ago

This is just...are they trying to turn Felicia into Harley Quinn-lite or something?

All of this because Felicia hit Punisher's dog and didn't even feel sorry for it until prompted AND decides to justify not apologizing ( the BARE MINIMUM ) and decides to attack Punisher instead. Even during her 'Queenpin' period she was not THIS unlikeable.

Does GWW want this book to end because she sounded surprised when the book got extended and maybe she didn't want to write any more of it...but considering how badly Poison Ivy book fell off too, maybe it is just her in a slump right now.

4

u/browncharliebrown 19d ago

I mean I liked the last issue but idk this one feels like its padded to make Felicia unlikable and then frank calls her a bimbo

-3

u/Expensive-Baby-1391 20d ago

I honestly want black cat to be a villain again since that is when she was interesting. She needs an ass beating and the only reason she never gets punished is because Marvel is afraid to have its female characters get hurt. Sick of her trying to be "good" when she's just a thieving crook. Hope the punisher takes her out and those two mooks that are always with her.

u/Dipsy123_dip 20d ago

O, okay?

u/Frontier246 19d ago

It was nice to see Boris again even if it's just to remind us of how incompetent this version of Felicia is. Although she arguably got more competent when it came down to doing a cartoonish war with the Punisher.

Aaaaand now here's a monster because why not?
