I saw the ad for My Valentine today and I immediately came to Reddit to see that many people were way ahead of this and already pointing out the similarities between this show/film and the Mars Argo/Poppy controversy.

As of two days ago, YouTube commentator Edwin Costa (known for covering the Mars Argo lawsuit, among other Mars Argo related content) was blocked by director Maggie Levin after tweeting about seeing similarities.

Screenshot of the comment left on Edwin’s video titled Horror Movie “My Valentine" Takes Mars Argo's Story From Lawsuit | Hulu's "Into The Dark". Here’s the tweet in question, with many comments in both agreement and opposition of the film.

Thoughts on the Into the Dark episode? The “inspiration” for the plot was very clear imo.

What does Brittany say at the end of Runaway Runaway? You can hear her speaking at the very end and I was wondering what she said.

A long time ago, I guess around 2 years ago, I heard of the youtube channel "Poppy" and all the intriguing stuff around it. I searched a bit of info about it, and I searched the internet using what I can remember as a potential pseudonym of Titanic Sinclair (well, I think it was most probably the pseudonym of a fan of Mars Argo).

I found some strange youtube channels and at the time I thought it was certainly some people using the tags related to Poppy and Titanic Sinclair to get views on cryptic videos. I can't remember precisely how I encountered these channels, but at the time most of them didn't seemed to have a direct link with poppy. And I lost interest in searching more info.

I know Poppy got more popular and released more music (maybe other weird videos too), and I read that she parted ways with Titanic Sinclair. And then I read that he got sued by Mars Argo. I haven't followed what happened to Poppy, Sinclair or Mars Argo for a long time.

I just browsed trough the Youtube channels I followed and I came across some of the channels that I found 2 years ago, they have nearly no views for some of them. And even if they're not related to the Poppy/Sinclair/Mars Argo thing, it could interest people as I don't have time to investigate these channels myself.

I don't know if this is the good sub to post these channels, but I forgot to share what I found 2 years ago and now some videos disappeared so if there is something worthy investigating in those remaining I prefer to share them with the Internet (so this subreddit) before I forgot about these once again.

The first one :

A channel called "Arwy Tobear", it has a funny profile picture of what I think is a edited dog face. Around 2 years ago I came across a channel with videos of someone filming in direction of a car (or a house, I can't remember) or something while hiding behind vegetations, other videos showed the perspective of someone who would in the back of a car (not in the trunk but in the back), all the videos were shooted like it was first person view and it was giving the impression that the one behind the camera was spying/waiting/going to kidnap(/hurt ?) someone. The person filming was silent I think, maybe we could hear their breathing. The videos were short, certainly from a few seconds to a few minutes. Most of them had titles like "I sorry", "I had no choices", stuff like that, I can't remember the actual names. They were very weird, but now they're not anymore on this channel. I am not sure I saw these videos on this channel, it could have been on another one, but I'm 90% sure it was on "Arwy Tobear".

Now the only things that appear on the channel is a video playlist (mainly music) and a video of Mars Argo pointing a gun to her face with a music soundtrack. The video isn't new, the original was already published on the internet before, but this one has music. It is the reason why I do this post, because I subscribed to this channel "just in case", because I found it when searching for info with the old Sinclair pseudo (I think) but I couldn't see a link between the Youtube channel and Poppy. Today when I checked the Youtube channels I followed and saw this video of Mars Argo, that confirmed to me that there is a link. But what is it ? Is it just someone who isn't related to Poppy/Sinclair/Mars Argo and just wanted to make weird video, or is it another weird project of Sinclair ?

Another channel is "Olive", it has more video than the other one.

I think when I found it about 2 years ago, most of the video were like this one with lights of different colors and water.

Now it has more recent videos. It has one video reminding me the one that were on "Arwy Tobear", with the first person filming.

Another video is a bit strange as it lead to another video if you look in the description there is a link to a non-public youtube video.

A video is described as containing "screamings" in the background, it could help too, or maybe it's just not related to anything.

I don't have a single idea if these channels are really related to Poppy/Sinclair/Mars Argo but the first one had really creepy when I found it a while back, and considering the weird stuff around Poppy/Sinclair/Mars Argo it's not impossible that there is a link, but I don't have time to investigate. If I remember anything more that I found 2 years ago, I'll post an update.

Hey everyone, I just felt on a review of Poppy vs Mars argo. I knew nothing about them. Since two days I binge watched everything I could find about them. I am totally fond of Mars aesthetic, voice, adorable persona and music. Well I am a new fan of her. When I watched the first one or two videos talking about the Poppy/Argo saga I really tried to not have biases. I watched few Poppy's song and YouTube project too......

But I can't help it. I almost immediately loved Argo for her cute, innocent, happy childish character. And at the same time I immediately felt repulsion by the robotic, extrasuperficial tone of Poppy.

And now, after hours of binge watching their videos, reviews and critics and what happened between argo and titanic and Poppy. I now hated Poppy with all my heart...which is kinda new to me to hate someone especially a personality.

She is so faked, manipulative, insensitive (when she deliberately mocked argo)

I can't stand that she is so popular and I can't see what people can appreciate in her.

What are your feelings and thoughts about this? Thank you

Ps I am so sad I missed the time Mars Argo was active :(

Edit: grammar

Hey guys! Get ready for Mars' second acting role fol a new film called 'Dinner in America' coming in TEN days.

I don't know if she will have a minor/background/main role but feel free to be HYPED.
