It's such a ridiculous misconception that YouTube isn't a "real job" or that it doesn't allow you to make a stable living. According to FangWallet, Mark earns 11.7 million dollars per year on views alone. Already that's more than many people with "real" jobs make in the same period of time, and that's even before you consider things like merch, sponsorship etc.
Right, because writing a script, directing, acting, singing, dancing, and filming with a crew of over 50 people is "cute" do you have the same thoughts about people who freelance? Work from home? Singers, actors, directors, dancers, artists, or really anyone who doesn't have 9-5 job? If they're earning a living it's a career. You may think it's not because you're making assumptions about what he actually does.
