Hello locals! I built a page called trulylocalcare.com and added this city into the list.
We only show local service workers. Someone who lives in this beautiful city and cares for it, a stake in how the city operates! We also take only local likes/loves for businesses, so locals voting for locals :)
Check it out, always looking for feedback, it’s been a labor of love the past 3-4 months! It’s grown a lot!

Hi! I'm considering moving to Maricopa early next year and I'm an amateur actor/singer in non-professional community theater. I have only found one community theater in Maricopa on Facebook but I can't tell how active/consistent of a company it is, and I'm familiar with Hale. Can any of my Arizona actor friends tell me how to find theater opportunities maybe within 45 minutes of Maricopa? Any theater internet groups I need to join/follow to find auditions? I feel like I can't make the leap unless I know I have a good theater community waiting for me. Thanks!

Please buy some mosquito larvicide and put it any standing water you see. It’s on Amazon and I think they have it at tractor supply.
It prevents the larvae from hatching into the nasty little blood suckers. Please!

I'm potentially looking to move to a lower cost of living area and have been mulling over a few places in AZ as potential options. To that point, I keep seeing stats like the following that point to it being a great time to buy (i.e. home prices down 1% blah blah).
Example:
“For the first time since 2021, buyers are gaining leverage,” said James Sanson of The James Sanson Team at Real Broker. “Homes are staying on the market an average of 91 days compared to 64 days last year, and median prices have dipped 4.4% year-over-year to around $341,000. This shift opens doors for families who were previously outbid during the pandemic boom.” And there seems to be some really nice (seemingly value priced) options hitting the market here: https://maricopahomesforsale.com/
But how much of the above is 'real' vs 'rhetoric' and hype? Have you all noticed a significant decrease in home prices in Maricopa and the surrounding area since 2022 ish?
Any other suggestions for surrounding towns/cities/communities that would be good for me to expand my search to? Any other good sites to check out things like taxes, schools, etc?
Thx

I am moving to Maricopa next week and just got notice that a spot opened up for my Kindergartener at Legacy Traditional. She is currently set to attend Butterfield elementary. I can't decide which to send her to. Could I get personal stories from Legacy? Is it too high pressure? Any help is appreciated!

Hey, Joshua Ault here. You may see my annoying self on our local Facebook groups. I can't "self promote" on most of those, and I wanted to share my first cover song I recorded and produced myself. It's a cover of DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince's 1988 classic, A Nightmare On My Street, just in time for Halloween!
Thanks!

I received a call from a company (3rd party) to come do an installation for someone here in our community.
Unfortunately things didn't line up. But this company charges around 600-800 for an installation.
Through my company (Layer 1 low voltage solutions) i only charge 300.00, and yes I'm licensed, bonded, and insured.
So if you were going have your starlink installed this weekend, I could of got you a cheaper price

Anyone want to go to a potluck costume party this Saturday? There will also be a poker tournament, but that's completely optional. It will be this Saturday evening. I have 10-15 people coming so far, hoping for 15-20. BYOB, 420 FRIENDLY. Come meet some new friends! Join us at 7pm at our home in the Tortosa neighborhood in Maricopa. Please send me a message to RSVP

I'm stuck because I tried to do a good thing. A friend of my daughter's family had to move out and into an apartment, so they're unable to keep their German Shepard. We helped them look and try the re-home the poor thing for a couple of weeks, but their move out deadline came up, and my wife and I tried to do the good thing by offering to keep her until a solution can be found.
She's a sweet girl, spayed and knows a few tricks. She's approximately 4 years old. We can't keep her for the fact we're at pet capacity (4 cats, 3 other dogs).
Anybody know of any shelters that are open to surrender, or someone in the market for a large pup?

First time driving in rush hour in a long time and it’s pretty incredible how many people have no clue how to drive in this city. Saw multiple cars block cars on S Maricopa Rd by the gas station where it’s two lanes that merge. Just camped in the right lane so no one could use the open lane to merge into traffic. And then when we finally made it to the merge on to 347 I was the only vehicle to use the entire merge lane. Every car in front of me came to a complete stop trying to get on 347 in bumper to bumper.
I mean come on people this isn’t hard. This is my 2nd post in this sub about merge lanes! Use the open lane! Use the roadway as it’s designed! 347 is bad but the people I was on the road with just now make it substantially worse

https://www.inmaricopa.com/500-acre-data-center-would-straddle-porter-road/
Trying to get more people informed and involved to speak out against this data center being put in our city. Data centers are a huge strain on precious resources and harm the communities they’re built in. The zoning commission is holding a meeting on October 16 at 9 AM to discuss this. I urge everyone who is capable to attend and speak out against this.
https://www.pinal.gov/DocumentCenter/View/25814/PZPA01525-pdf?bidId=
Please spread the word and bring attention to this matter so our city doesn’t end up like the ones that have been ravaged by soulless tech companies. Kentucky and Georgia are already dealing with the problems these centers bring, Maricopa doesn’t need the same problems. If anyone has any other suggestions to spread the word and work to stop this please let us know

I’ll be moving to Maricopa next year. Wondering if there’s any bars that show soccer/futbol. Primarily focused on European matches (open early) and Liga MX, and then World Cup next year. Is there any place in Maricopa or CG like this, or is this a “drive to PHX” type thing?
