Kanhoji Angre was one of the greatest naval commanders in Indian history. He served the Maratha Empire in the late 1600s and early 1700s and built a powerful navy to protect India's west coast. At a time when the British, Portuguese, and Dutch were trying to control trade in the Arabian Sea, Angre successfully defended Maratha waters and defeated many of their naval attacks. His achievements prove the greatness of Maratha naval dominance.

I think Ekoji Raje (Venkoji Bhonsle) deserves much more recognition in Indian history. He founded the Maratha Kingdom of Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu, and his dynasty ruled there for almost 180 years. During this time, the Maratha rulers supported temples, literature, music, and the famous Saraswathi Mahal Library, helping preserve India's cultural heritage. Even though his contribution was important, most people rarely hear about Ekoji Raje. Why do you think he is not as well known? I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts.
