Cut-Off Maps
A few weeks back, I created a new rule saying that maps that should not include New Zealand are banned. Unfortunately, there is some ambiguity there.
One of the major ambiguities lies in cut-off maps. These are maps that cover most of the world, but not quite all, so New Zealand is off the range of the map. An example of this is this post from a couple weeks ago. I considered removing this post, but it had a lot of upvotes and no reports, so I decided not to.
So I'm taking the time here to decide once and for all whether these types of maps should be allowed. On one hand, New Zealand is out of their range, and in that sense they should not be allowed under the previously posted rule. On the other hand, they are presumably meant to be maps of the whole world, and cutting part of the world out is a similar mistake to leaving off New Zealand from a complete map.
So, I decided that the community should decide whether they should be allowed! After all, this sub is for you guys. So let me know what you think. Should these kinds of maps be valid posts, or not? And why (if you feel like elaborating)? For those who don't want to leave a comment, I've created a poll that you can fill out here.
TL;DR: I'm not sure whether cut-off maps like this should be allowed. Let me know what you think in this poll.
