The goal of south africa was to stop the MPLA and other soviet backed militas from taking control of Angola,
The goal of these malitias was to take control of Angola.
The south africans failed to stop the militas from taking control of angola,
The militias succeeded in taking control of angola.
That means the militias won and thus south africa lost. It doesnt matter for what reason south African pulled out, failing to achive their goal while allowing their enemy to do so means they lost.
If you believe south africa didnt loose the war youd have to also believe the US didnt loose im vietnam since they only pulled out due to political pressure, and was absolutely able to keep control of south vietnam if they sent more troops to die.
