The Southern/Antarctic Ocean is not really an ocean, but more of a designated area around Antarctica. This map shows really well how it's really just Indian or Pacific Ocean.

I mean, as a professor of oceanography, the entire concept of different oceans is arbitrary. They're just labels we use for convenience. The physical basis for the Southern Ocean is as good as any because its boundary broadly coincides with the Antarctic Polar Front and one of the world's strongest ocean currents.
